Katherine Adams - full name Katherine Leatherman Adams - was born in New York on April 20, 1964, her parents were John Hamilton Adams and Patricia Brandon Adams. She attended Brown University, graduating in 1986 with a BA in Comparative Literature with a concentration in French and German. But her studies did not end there - in 1990, Katherine Adams received a doctorate in law from the University of Chicago. After her university studies, she worked, for example, as an assistant professor of law at the University Law School in New York or at Columbia University Law School. She also worked, for example, at Honeywell in the area of ​​global legal strategy management or at one of the New York law firms.

Katherine Adams joined Apple in the fall of 2017 as general counsel and senior vice president of legal and global security. In this position, she replaced Bruce Sewell, who was retiring. Announcing Katherine's joining the company, Tim Cook expressed his delight at her arrival. According to Tim Cook, Katherine Adams is an experienced leader, and Cook also greatly values ​​her extensive legal experience and excellent judgment.
