The MacOtakara server, which in the past brought a lot of true information about the upcoming Apple devices, published news about this year's iPhones. You shouldy according to the server, to offer one of the latest wireless standards in development, referred to as IEEE 802.11ay or Wi-Fi 60GHz.

This standard was designed specifically for short-range connectivity and replaces the older 802.11ad standard. Unlike it, it offers four times higher transfer speed and uses four streams to secure connectivity to several devices at once.

The interesting thing is that standard is in development for now, it isho completion and release of the first devices with its support of course expects already at the end of 2020, i.e. in the period that also includes the release of autumn iPhones. The company should use the technology to connect devices in close proximity to the iPhone. It would therefore be used for data transfer using AirDrop, connectivity with the Apple Watch, and it is speculated that it will also be used with a wireless headset for mixed reality, which Apple is allegedly preparing.

According to speculation so far, this should be based on a connection to a box that would offer the required performance and wirelessly transmit the image to the glasses. So the device would work without the need to connect to a phone or computer, as is the case with most AR/VR headsets today. Even before the release of such a device, however, Apple should focus on the development of the ARKit platform for iPhone and iPad.
