Popular actor Leonardo DiCaprio was one of the main contenders for the role of Steve Jobs in Sony's upcoming movie about the Apple co-founder, but he is now out of the running. DiCaprio wants to finish filming The Revenant take a longer break from playing.
A movie about Steve Jobs he wrote screenwriter Aaron Sorkin and direct it eventually instead David Fincher will be Danny Boyle. DiCaprio was also initially in talks with Boyle, but he has now decided to back out of the whole project, informs The Hollywood Reporter.
DiCaprio is currently filming a movie The Revenant, which will arrive in theaters next year, and subsequently plans to take a longer vacation, which is why he turned down the role of Steve Jobs. So Sony still has to keep looking. Although the film based on Walter Isaacson's book, which is to have three half-hour parts from the background of selected keynotes, about one of the greatest visionaries of recent decades, is a highly anticipated title, it still does not have its main star.
He continues to talk about Christian Bale, who Fincher originally wanted. Matt Damon, Bradley Cooper or Ben Affleck are also on the list of applicants, but the last-named is not considering the role in the film The Accountant too likely.
Would love to see Ashton there :-)
he did it very well :)
Very nicely said Forest!
Noah Wyle was the best as Jobs
complete agreement
That's right, he captured his demeanor and demeanor. If there was a chance, they should cast him again.
I don't know why everyone chooses only among such famous personalities who are not similar to him and cannot even imitate his character ... I would rather look at the physical appearance, if the actor can imitate his gestures, behavior, in short, empathize with him ... although I understand that the attendance will be more likely to be attracted by an Oscar star (especially Leo, etc.)
Well, whoever plays him, I hope it's more realistic than the Ashton movie
Leo doesn't have an Oscar.
No, but he's definitely one of the best movie stars, he has a lot of nominations, globes, and I'm not saying he's a bad actor, he's definitely not, and maybe he can do it better than Ashton, but in short, he doesn't fit Jobs for me ( my opinion) ... after all, it is enough to look at some parodied videos, where the actor can capture Jobs not only in appearance (nowadays, with the help of various techniques, anyone can be created on anyone), but also in character ... they are simply not necessarily professional, famous stars, when their name alone will sell out movie theaters across the country in a minute, but they make a better impression on me than the actor I associate as the sleazy joker from "Hey man, where's the car" or the one who couldn't say his dear "get away with with that ass, so I can fit in there too" and rather froze (Titanic) .... in short, let's be surprised :)
I liked the movie with Ashton. Had Jobs very well studied…
So I wouldn't be afraid of Ashton.. :-)
I didn't even know Fincher gave up on it. This is a great shame because Social Network as a "tech" film was excellent, so I was looking forward to another such effort. Oh well, Boyle's movies are good too, so we'll see. Otherwise, I think this casting of DiCaprio is just a marketing ploy, because I don't think he fits it at all. That Kutcher was absolutely perfect, and Wyle played him perfectly. I also hope that the film will be at least three hours long, because jOBS (Even though I liked the film despite the cooler reviews) took it quite a bit.
And what if Leo refuses and the actor who takes it gets an Oscar?
