Last May, we reported that they are collecting money that would enable the realization of a port of the legendary Czech game Brány Skeldal, which we were able to play on computers for the first time back in 1998. Sufficient funds have finally been released and Gates of Skeldal has been available for iPhone and iPad downloads for the third day now…

The entire project ran on the Startovač.cz server, and in order to be successful, 180 crowns had to be collected. Eventually we did collected exactly 187 crowns and work on the iOS and Android port could begin. However, we already knew this in June, when Jindřich Rohlík, the author of the Czech legend, and I brought interview, where, among other things, he just talked about the port.

Now Rohlík's dream has come true, and even owners of iPhones and iPads can play Gates of Skeldal. The conversion of the Czech game from 1998 is practically a clone from computers, so anyone who has ever played Gates of Skeldal on a computer will feel right at home on mobile devices. The game can be downloaded for free in the App Store, in addition as a universal version for iPhone and iPad. On the iPhone, you may sometimes encounter the problem of buttons that are too small, which have not been modified in any way from the computer version, but the game experience even on an apple phone remains as you would expect.

For those who don't know what the Gates of Skeldal are actually about, the description of the game in the App Store will best explain this RPG to them:

The protagonists are a group of three to six adventurers summoned by the Krow-Kane ritual to deal with five renegade disciples of the mage Nimeth. They are preparing for their ultimate spell in Skeldal Tower. If they succeeded, the world would be overrun by monsters from the dimeza Zohar.

The game takes place on the mythical island of Rovenland, where magic still oozes from the land in its original form. Gates of Skeldal is an rpg game, a so-called step-by-step dungeon based on character development, revealing other parts of the story and, above all, turn-based battles.
