Being a fisherman never really appealed to me, so I never even held a rod in my hand. The change came only when I installed a new adventure game on my iPhone Legend of the Skyfish. But instead of fish here, you have to catch strange aquatic enemies or move various obstacles in order to progress.

Logic-action adventure game Legend of the Skyfish at first glance it looks like a legendary game series The Legend of Zelda. Skyfish is the work of developers from the Crescent Moon Games studio, who are behind, for example, the very popular dog Mimpi or the ninja from Shadow Blade. Although the graphical environment remains very similar to Mimpi, the gamepads are completely new.

Water fantasy Legend of the Skyfish contains not only adventure elements, but also action games with a small portion of mini puzzles. As in any proper adventure, there is also a story, which I quickly skipped when I first started it and jumped straight into the first level. However, later I quite regretted it and I still think that I have to go back to him someday. However, the plot is not complicated at all - the fish man is trying to save his world and his task is to take back the islands that have been taken over by the enemies.

Fishing rod or sword

His main weapon is a fishing rod that can be used in two ways. In addition to the classic one, i.e. for fishing, you can also use the rod as a sword. You control these combat abilities in the game using two action buttons, located in the lower right corner. There is also an imaginary joystick with which you control the protagonist. However, you can always make it disappear in the settings. You can go with the character to all directions and angles.

In total, you can look forward to three different worlds, which always contain fifteen levels of varying difficulty. Paradoxically, I experienced the biggest jam in the third round, but once you understand the meaning of the individual mini-puzzles, you literally fly through the rest of the levels. I managed the first fifteen laps in an hour. The developers obviously tried hard to make the game challenging, but instead they managed to create a rather pleasant respite.

In each round you must logically go through all the islands and always destroy the enemy totem at the end. However, not only enemies, various shooting traps and traps stand in your way, but also the sea. Because you almost always have to transport yourself from island to island, and this is where you use a fishing rod. All you have to do is aim correctly at the golden cube that serves as an anchor, release the line and pull yourself up.

After a smooth landing, mutated fish and seahorses will usually be waiting for you, which you can use your sword to send to an eternal sleep. However, some cleverly find themselves behind natural obstacles and shoot at you. There is nothing easier than using the rod again and easily pulling the monsters towards you.

You can also use the rod to move various blocks to designated places. Thanks to this, the gates to other parts of the game will always open for you. You will also encounter hidden objects during your quest. This will improve your fishing rod or clothing over time. At the beginning of each level you also have five hearts, i.e. lives. Once an enemy hits you, you gradually lose them. In larger rounds, however, there are checkpoints that easily replenish your lost lives. Sometimes you will find a free-rolling heart, for example, among the trees. Even at this moment you can use the rod.

Logic mini games

Overcoming individual obstacles is always about your speed as well as luck. You have to catch the right moment and run between the shooting arrows and bayonets. Each item in the game has its own meaning, so sometimes you'll have to use your brain to get ahead. At the end of each world, i.e. after fifteen rounds, the main boss is waiting for you, but you can defeat the left rear one. All you have to do is beat him head on and you won't even use up five lives.

Although at first glance it may seem that Legend of the Skyfish is a monotonous game, the opposite is true. At times I found myself unable to take my hands off the iPhone screen until I solved the wheel. I personally also like the children's graphics and design, which is cute and magical in its own way. All three water worlds are of course graphically different and new controls are added. In the second world, for example, you have to jump from one moving raft to another at sea, again using a fishing rod.

The game is sure to appeal mainly to children, but adults can also have a fun time playing it. You just need to prepare four euros (110 crowns), for which the game can be downloaded for iPhone and iPad. Legend of the Skyfish it even works on Apple TV, but unfortunately the game progress does not sync between the TV and the iPhone or iPad. If the developers add it, the gaming experience will be much more enjoyable. But fans of adventure games or the aforementioned Zelda should not miss this game.
