So after half a year on the market, we can probably say that FineWoven is really not new leather. This new material from Apple, which was supposed to replace it, is causing a lot of controversy, especially considering its quality. What's next for him?

It is quite common that with regard to the qualities and disadvantages of a product, the second voices are often heard rather than the first. When someone is satisfied with something, there is absolutely no need to comment on it, which is different in the case of a negative experience. FineWoven has received a fairly large wave of criticism for its low-quality material.

Apple mentions how close its material can be to skin, how FineWoven has a shiny and soft surface that resembles suede, which is leather treated by sanding on its reverse side. At the same time, it is supposed to be an elegant and durable twill material made of 68% recycled materials. So what are the advantages of this material? First of all, style and then ecology. In the second case, it may be so, but we cannot judge it too much. However, what we can all see is that style is only a thing here if you don't use accessories too much. Technology improvements

Of course, there is a certain part of users who are satisfied with this material. After all, Apple doesn't just use it to make covers for iPhones, but also straps for Apple Watch, MagSafe wallets or keychains for AirTag. But the criticism of the material is great and, above all, persistent, when, for example, the FineWoven cover for the iPhone has a rating of only 3,1 out of 5 stars on the German Amazon, when 33% of totally dissatisfied owners gave it only one star. It's not just that it's after the sales launch and then silence on the footpath. But can the company terminate it after a year?

Since the development of the material certainly cost a lot of money, it is not very likely that they would return to Apple. So it can be assumed that FineWoven will sell products at least as long as it keeps the design language of the iPhone 15 and 15 Pro. This could be for his three generations. So if we were to see the end, it would be with the iPhone 18 generation. By ending it now, the company would also admit its mistake, and it cannot afford that. But he can try to redesign the shell of the cover or strengthen the fibers so that this accessory is more durable.

It will be interesting to watch the development, also considering that if Apple does improve the technology, if it will tell us about it at all, and if so, in what style. But Apple knows how to choose its words well, so it would certainly be able to present it well without labeling the older generation of material as garbage, which it certainly is for many owners of some FineWoven accessory.
