Of course, this is the logic of the matter – not everyone needs some kind of protective cases and covers for their devices, but it is true that almost everyone buys a solution sooner or later. Even if he carries his iPhone without additional protection, there will come a time when he would rather invest some money in an appropriate solution than expose his device to possible damage.

I know this from my own experience. When you own an iPhone with the nickname Plus or Max, you don't want to wrap it in an additional amount of material, because that makes the phone even bigger and heavier. I usually wear it without a cover, but as soon as a specific situation comes up, I don't go without a cover, typically it's hiking and traveling in general.

If you look at the Apple Online Store, you will have no problem finding an original silicone or leather cover for, for example, the iPhone 7 Plus, which Apple has not sold for years and this phone does not even support the current iOS anymore. It does not change the fact that it is not a problem to get the appropriate protection for it. This also applies to newer generations, and not only to the company's official web store. But what is the situation with the competition?

Much worse. If you buy the current model, the covers are of course here. But the older you get, the more difficult it is to find adequate protection. For example, we have a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra in our family. This phone only has two successors, and even then it is very difficult to find an optimal cover for it. Now we are not talking about what eBay offers, but what the manufacturer himself offers. He does show the accessories on his website, but to buy them, he refers to a distributor who no longer offers them.

It is true that Samsung, for example, is trying to be quite creative in its range of covers. So it doesn't just present you with two identical covers that differ in material, but also provides, for example, those with a strap, or flip ones with a cut-out for a certain part of the Always-On display. But if you don't buy it when the phone launches, you'll be out of luck later. Even if you nevertheless buy a second-hand iPhone, you can always wrap it not only with original protection, but also of course with that from third-party manufacturers, of which there are still plenty.

However, Apple has been relatively resigned to the variants. Previously, it also offered Folio-type cases, but it was discontinued and you can only get them in the Apple Online Store for the iPhone 11 series and even older XS. But since they were replaced by a wallet with MagSafe, it cleared a similar shape of the field. Apple would rather just sell us a case and a wallet than just one case. Paradoxically for Apple, this combination is cheaper than if it sold us the Folio just mentioned.
