Can you imagine going to a concert and the performing band playing with iPhones instead of regular musical instruments? If you don't have such a wild imagination, then the band Atomic Tom will show it to you.
Atomic Tom is a four-member musical band that has been operating for about three years and has enjoyed a lot of attention in recent days. She made a video in which she performed one of her singles live - "Take Me Out".
However, there would be nothing special about this, if the video was not filmed while riding the subway, and instead of musical instruments, the band members did not use their iPhones with music applications.
In addition, this recording brought incredible success to the band, in a short time it has already been viewed by more than 3 million people from all over the world on YouTube, and the number is constantly growing. As a result, the band managed to achieve proper visibility, which it will certainly use in the coming months.
If you're wondering what music apps the band used, here are the following:
- Drums: Drum Master - 1,59 €
- Guitar: iShred - 3,99 €
- Piano: Virtuoso Piano Free 2 HD – free
- Bass: PocketGuitar - 0,79 €
What do you think about this topic? Would you like to go to a concert of a band that plays with iPhones/iPads? We look forward to hearing your thoughts in the comments.

Well done boys. thumbs up
Agreement. Handsome and nothing fake… That's how it should be. It would be an excellent advertisement for what APPLU's application can do...
it Tom: nothing fake? How about seeing a phoniatrician? That's downright ear-twisting! Yes, the virtual instruments are in tune (because those iFun boxes are controlled by a crystal, which guarantees the exact pitch), but the singing is at times like drunkards leaving the pub - untrained and unsung voices. Rhythmically, it's also quite lame in places. Well, if that's the way music goes, then it's over (at least for me). The golden age of honest musicians - no playbacks - everything live, no false singing straighteners and similar frauds in the studio - how many times did they record it in one go and it was great. The pros are dying out. The llamas are coming...
I have the feeling that the most harmed to music were those orthodox who were not willing to accept differences in opinion or approach. But luckily, it's just playing into the wind and the creativity of the musician (even the so-called llamas) is inexhaustible. Well, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for them...
Well, I've been playing in a band for about 16 years. Of course, I lean towards classical instruments. But I also support progress. If the guys didn't start promoting lamp amplifiers, cartoons and other gadgets back then, they're all still playing lubovky. The classics are great, but there must be progress :-) However, it also happens that through these digi things one works his way up to the classics :-)
Viva la musica!
Some consider Lightning and Arrow to be the pinnacle of reading, others consider EM Remarqua (I wrote it here because it came to my mind first, but of course there are many others and more "modern" ones that I could list) - everyone's business. It's the same with music. I don't know who the true believers are (it's some kind of group, isn't it?), but because I know people from recording studios, I have references as to how recording often goes today (and also how it used to happen in the past).
Creativity? I've tried a number of those programs (various Fruity loops, Traktors, Reactors, etc.) for making instant music, and it doesn't require any special creativity - in a few minutes the "song" is ready and you can throw it at some house party. But those compositions are essentially almost the same, one like the other - you can tell very often that those instant musical DIYs were used. However, at a time when people are willing to listen to songs transformed as ringtones for mobile phones (that's really scary), I'm not surprised anymore. I myself have some musical equipment and I am not opposed to the use of electronic instruments (even in virtual SW form), however, if someone does not hear that the ruffians are not singing there, but hollering like gluttons, then there is no help for him. And as I already wrote - virtual instruments from those plastic boxes with a piece of silicon + other "chemical additives" tune, because tuning is only a technical matter - that is, no merit of the users. The trend is probably such (and it is quite noticeable in a large part of the products) that everything will move towards greater and greater shallowness and shuntness. My opinion …
yes i agree with the voice…it's more screams than singing….however we can't deny they did a more than perfect performance!
to muzjiker: I agree with you if this video will be on some music server where they will write about it as super music of the future. This is about Apple and that's why I'm laughing at what you're showing :)
STONE!! :) They are fighters.
And close the iPhone for nothing ;) It's amazing <3
Those tight gates are thick.
Did they even record it on the iPhone? They wrote Sights and Sounds, I'm not the best English speaker, but it looks like it ;)
No, it means a painting. The video was shot on three iPhones.
Oh yeah, you're right, I need to read more before I start to be wise :-D Otherwise, the news is already older, it was already as a video clip in Breakfast with Nova, weeks ago.
Everything filmed and played on an iPhone 3G it would be great if they had four.
they had 4...note the "drummer"
I think the drummer has 3G/3Gs, but definitely not 4, I think the only one who has 4 is the guy in the background who is filming them and maybe even the cameraman sitting next to the singer :)
Oh, and the Asian musician :)
