Right at the beginning, we will start with the most important hardware, i.e. the processor. The Apple iPhone SE (2020) currently offers the most powerful six-core processor from Apple, which is called A13 Bionic. Two cores of this processor are classified as powerful, the other four are economical. Powerful cores operate at a clock frequency of 2.65 GHz. It should be noted that this processor is also used by Apple's flagships, i.e. the iPhone from the 11 series. As for the Pixel 4a, you can look forward to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 octa-core processor, which is intended for mid-range Android smartphones. Here, two cores are powerful and the remaining six cores are economical, the powerful cores then work at a frequency of 2.6 GHz.

If we look at the side of RAM, you can look forward to 3 GB of RAM in the second generation iPhone SE, and 4 GB of RAM in the case of the Pixel 6a. As for security, the iPhone SE (2020) offers the old familiar Touch ID, which is built into the lower part of the front of the device. The Pixel 4a also offers a fingerprint reader on its back. The Pixel 4a also has a special Titan M security chip. You are certainly also interested in the user memory - with the iPhone SE (2020) you can choose from 64 GB, 128 GB or 256 GB, the Pixel 4a offers "only" one variant, namely 128 GB. If you decide to buy a second-generation iPhone SE, you can look forward to a 1821 mAh battery, which is definitely sufficient capacity given the economical processor and smaller display. Inside the Google Pixel 4a is a larger battery, specifically it has a capacity of 3 mAh, so in terms of endurance, the Pixel 140a will definitely be a bit better, there's no denying that. As for charging, Apple bundles a classic and outdated 4W charger with the iPhone SE (2020), but you can purchase a separate up to 5W adapter with which the device can be charged. Pixel 18a already offers an 4W charging adapter in the package. The iPhone SE (18) can be charged wirelessly at 2020 W (this value is limited by the system, in reality 7,5 W), unfortunately you cannot charge the Google Pixel 10a wirelessly. Neither device is capable of reverse wireless charging.

As for the construction of the second generation iPhone SE, its body is made of classic aluminum. The Google Pixel 4a then has a plastic chassis, which means the iPhone SE (2020) will feel much more premium in the hand. Apple uses a special tempered glass from Corning, which produces Gorilla Glass, for the second-generation iPhone SE, but the exact type cannot be determined. The same cannot be said about the Pixel 4a, which offers Gorilla Glass 3, which is already quite an older piece - Gorilla Glass 6 and newer are currently on the market. If we put the two phones next to each other with the display on, you can notice large bezels on the iPhone SE for today's time, while the Pixel 4a has a display practically across the entire front of the device, with only a round "cutout" for the front camera in the upper left corner .
If we look at the display of both devices, then with the second generation iPhone SE you can look forward to a Retina HD 4.7″ display with a resolution of 1334 x 750 px, a sensitivity of 326 PPI, a contrast ratio of 1400:1, support for True Tone technology and a P3 color gamut together with maximum brightness of 625 nits. If you haven't heard of True Tone technology, it's a special feature that uses sensors to detect ambient light and adjusts the display's white color in real time. The Pixel 4a then has a 5.81″ OLED display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels, a sensitivity of 443 PPI and a maximum brightness of 653 nits. On paper, the Pixel 4a's display has the upper hand, however, Apple's Retina HD display is really well done and you need to see this display before buying - so don't be fooled by the bigger numbers.
Camera
Nowadays, when choosing a new phone, the quality of the camera is also decisive, which is currently one of the parts on which manufacturers place the greatest emphasis. The second-generation iPhone SE offers a single wide-angle lens that has 12 Mpix, f/1.8 aperture, and the lens size is then 28mm. Of course, there is automatic focus and optical image stabilization (OIS). Even though the iPhone SE (2020) does not have a telephoto lens, it is capable of taking portrait photos, thanks to the extra powerful A13 Bionic processor, which can detect the background in real time and adjust the depth of field. With the Pixel 4a, you can look forward to a classic wide-angle lens with 12.2 Mpix with an aperture number of f/1.7, the size of the lens is 28 mm. This lens also has optical image stabilization (OIS). On the front of the iPhone SE (2020) you will find a 7 Mpix camera with an aperture number of f/2.2, on the Pixel 4a an 8 Mpix camera with an aperture number of f/2.0.

A very important aspect when choosing a device from the middle class is the price. The iPhone SE (2020) is available in three storage variants, namely 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. These variants start at 12 CZK, 990 CZK and 14 CZK. The Pixel 490a is only available in a single 17GB storage variant. Its price for the Czech market has not yet been determined, but at the time of the presentation it was listed at $590, which is less than 4 crowns. However, it is necessary to take into account various fees, so the total price will reach 128 thousand crowns. As for colors, the iPhone SE (349) is available in white, black and PRODUCT(RED) red, while the Pixel 8a is only available in black.

Or the bottom line is that if you don't insist on a platform, then the Pixel is a better choice because of a better camera with night mode support, a display, a better charger, USB-C and a lower price, otherwise it depends on the platform you want.
In fact, it's the exact opposite, the iPhone SE 2020 leads in everything and if you don't insist on the OS it's the clear winner. Pixel leads only in price, otherwise it is much worse.
Agreement
The iPhone is a more powerful solution with premium processing, but for today's time with an already very outdated design. Taking into account the price (although who knows how much it will be offered in the Czech Republic) the Pixel is a better choice. The performance of the processor is more than sufficient, great camera, bigger battery, USB-C... Otherwise, of course, as already mentioned here. Everyone prefers a different platform and usually chooses accordingly. Personally, I like the IP coverage of the SE 2020 (I use my mobile phone as a moto navigation), compactness and nice display. The main disappointment is the camera, battery and small display against the body. For a price of around 13000, there are a lot of minuses.
If someone would solve it in detail, you can also call from your phone for 300 CZK, so the winner among mobile phones will be somewhere else :-D

It's interesting to compare these phones, because everyone has a different take on it, and above all, it's different here in terms of price than in Germany, for example. If I want to be a nitpicker, I'll find something in both of them, in which the other beats him. I think it depends who mixed this "cocktail" better and what the target group actually is. Worldwide, there will probably be a group of people who don't want to pay more than 400 dollars for a phone, i.e. normal people, someone's parents, school/high school students, where the price/performance is decided. If I prefer the display, battery life, camera and price, the SE will lose out. When I chase the numbers in Antutu, it's clear. Jack vs wireless charging, hallmark of luxury vs price. It is obvious why Apple built it this way, things that were liked and are proven, components that were for good money or were lying around the warehouse. Apple built a decent phone and still fit in some manufacturing costs > reasonable selling price. But anyway, Google mixed it up better for me, but the question is who will better assert their "better".
