You can find countless debates on the Internet about whether Android devices are better or iPhones with Apple's iOS. But the truth is that every operating system, and therefore every device, has something in it. It is up to you whether you expect freedom and a large number of adjustments in the system, or whether you will swim into the closed ecosystem of Apple, which will literally swallow you up. In my opinion, however, there is one thing that Android users envy Apple users. Let's take a look at it together and please let me know in the comments if you share my opinion or not.
Android vs iOS
I would never dare to claim that Android or iOS is simply better than the competing system. Android can boast of some functions and things, some behind iOS. But when you buy a smartphone from a manufacturer, you kind of expect it to be supported for several long years. When you compare, for example, support from Samsung with support from Apple, you will find that there is a vast difference between the approach of both companies. While for devices from Samsung you will receive support from the manufacturer for two or three years, in the case of iPhones from Apple this period is set for 5 years or more, which is based on approximately four generations of iPhones.
Device support from Apple
If we look at the whole situation more closely, you will find that, for example, the iOS 13 operating system released less than a year ago supports five-year-old iPhones, namely the 6s and 6s Plus models, or the iPhone SE from 2016. iOS 12, which was released almost two years ago, after that you can install without problems on iPhone 5s, which is a seven year old device (2013). This year we have already seen the introduction of iOS 14 and many users expected that there will be another omission of the supported generation, and that you will install the new operating system only on iPhone 7 and later. However, the opposite is true, as Apple has decided that you will install iOS 14 on the same devices as last year's iOS 13. So logically, you will not install the new and upcoming iOS 14 on an even older device, but they will still be available on the iPhone 6s (Plus), and until the release of iOS 15, which we will see in a year and a few months. If we translate that into years, you'll find that Apple will fully support a device that will be a full 6 years old - something Android users can only dream of.
Check out the 5-year-old iPhone 6s in the gallery:
Samsung device support
As for support for Android devices, it's nowhere near that great - and it should be noted that it never was. Samsung and five-year device support is simply out of the question. To set the record straight in this case too, we can look at the Samsung Galaxy S6 smartphone, which was introduced in the same year as the iPhone 6s. The Galaxy S6 came pre-installed with Android 5.0 Lollipop, the iPhone 6s then with iOS 9. It should be noted that Android 5.0 Lollipop had been available for some time when the Galaxy S6 was released, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow was released that same year. However, the Galaxy S6 did not receive support for the new Android 6.0 until half a year later, specifically in February 2016. You could install the new iOS 6 on the iPhone 10s (Plus), as is customary until now, immediately after the official release of the system, i.e. in September 2016. While you could always update the iPhone 6s (and all others) to a new version of iOS immediately on the day of release, the Samsung Galaxy S6 received the next version of Android 7.0 Nougat, which was released in August 2016, only 8 months later, in March 2017.
Updates are available from Apple immediately, there is no need to wait several months
By this, we simply mean that the iOS operating system is available for all supported devices immediately on the day of the official presentation, and Apple fans simply do not have to wait for anything. In addition, we will tell you that the Galaxy S6 has not yet received the next version of Android 8.0 Oreo and the last version you will install on it is the already mentioned Android 7.0 Nougat, while the iPhone 6s received the iOS 8.0 operating system a month after the release of Android 11 Oreo. Necessary note that the iPhone 11s also received the iOS 5 operating system, which is a device that was released alongside the Samsung Galaxy S4. As for the Galaxy S4, it came with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and you could only update it to Android 5.0.1, which was released in 2014, and only in January 2015. Time went on after that and the iPhone 5s was it is still possible to install the latest available version of iOS 2018 in 12. For comparison, it can be mentioned that the possibility of installing iOS 14 on the iPhone 6s would represent the possibility of installing Android 11 on the Galaxy S6.
iPhone SE (2020) vs iPhone SE (2016):
Explanations or excuses?
There are, of course, various explanations for why Android devices simply do not receive updates for several long years. This is more or less mainly due to the fact that Apple owns all devices with the iOS operating system and at the same time can program the version for all of its iPhones several long months in advance. If we look at the Android operating system, it runs on practically all smartphones, except for the iPhone. This means that, for example, Samsung or Huawei simply have to rely on Google. It works very similarly in the case of macOS and Windows, where macOS is designed for only a few dozen configurations, while Windows has to run on millions of configurations. Another factor is the number of different devices that Apple owns compared to Samsung. Samsung produces low-end, mid-range and high-end phones, so its portfolio is much larger. On the other hand, I think that it shouldn't be a problem for Samsung to somehow agree with Google that new versions of Android are made available to it some time before the release, so that it has time to completely adapt them to all its devices, or at least to its flagships.
Freedom nausea, support is more important
Despite the fact that Android users can enjoy a freer environment and options for complete system modification, the fact that device support is really important does not change. The lack of support for older devices is also often caused by the laziness of the companies that make smartphones - just look at Google, which both "owns" Android and makes its own Pixel phones. Support for these devices should logically be the same as for Apple, but the opposite is true. You simply won't be able to install Android 2016 on a 11 Google Pixel anymore, while iOS 15 will be able to be installed on the 7 iPhone 2016 next year, and quite possibly there will be an option to update to iOS 16. So, in this case, laziness plays a major role. Many people criticize Apple for the price tags of its devices, but if you look at the latest flagships from Apple, you will find that their price is very similar. I can't imagine that I would buy a flagship from Samsung for 30 thousand (or more) crowns and have "guaranteed" support for the latest operating system for only two years, after which I would have to buy another device. Apple's iPhone will easily last you at least five (or more) years after purchase.
What would I do with a five year old phone? After all parties after death. Just virtue out of necessity. In addition, it contrasts the richness of candy, sorry, the apple tree against the poverty of andoidak. Towing a five-year-old model that needs to be bought new is the bottom. ? iPhone 6s and 16 GB ??????
I know countless people who use the iPhone 6s or SE without problems even today. These devices are still quite powerful and there are no “brakes”…
...well, they have the 6s and SE because they don't have a new iP, or their parents won't buy them a more expensive one, I know a lot of them, so in the final it's "burt" ;)
isn't it slow??is it important? as a pixel user, the iPhone seems to me like a slow-motion movie, God forbid, the older iPhone is a nuisance
My wife didn't let me have an iPhone 2020 until the SE 4 release. Not everyone wants the latest model.
I clearly agree with the editor, I personally only have Nexus – Pixel, also a great solution, since December 2019 I've been switching to everything from Apple and it's really a different coffee
You're right, I have it too.. iPhone 6S 128 GB and it just has a shorter battery, otherwise like new..
Jojo, except that they have to put a new battery every six months. If they wanted it to last a little?
Totally agree with the article. Updates on android devices are tragic. Perhaps a little spark of Google Pixel, but without support here, so incomplete. Even though I'm on Android, Android is definitely not enough for Apple's ecosystem. It's a pity about the Windows system, which disappeared through the ignorance of people in mobile devices. I think the apple ecosystem would have huge competition there over time.
Quite confused by the comments and the reasoning of the article. When I buy an expensive phone, I definitely don't want the menu to be completely rearranged every moment and some functions disappear and some are added, as it usually happens with new versions of the system. And it is definitely not true that Samsung's support ends after 3 years. Support is mainly about Internet browsing updates and the availability of e.g. banking applications. I still have a Samsung phone from 2015 and the internet browser still updates and the banking app still works. So I don't understand what functions I am missing out on? For example, with Apple, it is still not possible to transfer a photo to another phone via bluetooth, and no update will help that even in 10 years...
Tragic? Do you think that the vast majority of ordinary users (calls, basic applications, the web, maybe social networks) solve it somehow? Not at all, on the contrary - I hate, just like these people, that the design of my applications, etc., is constantly changing.
My wife needs an iPhone 6S plus, she doesn't need a new one, this one is enough, she is satisfied. For a new mom :) why buy a new one? She is constantly supported, she is not cut, it is enough for her. Thank you for the thread, Mr. Jelic.
for undemanding fb here and there, calls and sms are enough, even if it's already a slow machine
But for such people, even an android phone would be enough, the applications would still be supported there.
Spytihnv: it's not about apps, but an unupdated product is a security risk, should I be able to access banking, stocks, etc. from such a phone?
iPhone 5s and 6s around me also run without problems and honestly, they are not updated and I don't lag either :) in short, they don't have "support" with other aluminum two years after buying them as new :))))))
Hello, I'll tell you, I don't really care for any support, because unfortunately it is true that any device works best with the system it was born with, and any other new system usually runs worse and slower. And it applies to both iPhone and Android. And what's even worse, especially with the iPhone, every other system is slower and has errors that are strangely absent in the new models, and yet it's the same system. For example, iphone 5 on ios 6 was a cannon and when it ended on ios 10, it is almost unusable. So all their support is just bullshit. I keep my phones on the system they were born with and even a three-year-old phone works beautifully and quickly. I have an iphone and a samsung and I can compare the old systems on it and the new updated ones and the old ones are ten classes better. Well, that's it, and I have the feeling that the manufacturers, especially Apple, do it on purpose.
I totally agree with you ;)
This is exactly what I wrote above
I'll update it within two years until it's fixed. Then I'll cough on it
experience with apple.watch and iphone
On MBP from 2011 and 2012 Unobody, the best machines, so I can't allow it I left it on the system from rom 2018, the only thing I'm afraid of is the "loss of support" for office 2016
Well written, I agree. I have the same experience.
Totally agree, but then there is a problem with updating or buying new applications, iCloud/iWork/Safari/HighSierra-sync compatibility, etc.
They don't really envy iOS users, it's just the last trick of Apple to justify buying expensive and not always and in all high-end phones.
I have an Apple (iPad, MacBook Pro, once upon a time iPhone3G) but as a phone Xiaomi Mi Mix 3,. (and before that Asus, Samsung, Hua and the iPhone) and I will say frankly that I don't envy anything. I'm afraid what happened again on the Mac, on the iPad I almost don't recognize the part and on the Xiaomi I almost wouldn't mind having an update :D every week there is some kind of security, update of system parts, miui or once a year the major upgrade. But I remember that after 2 years of updating the iPhone 3G was so much slower that I finally switched to an Android phone :) but I like the iPad.
a friend has a xiaomi and it's fine until you deal with new technologies. Now we have VOLTE, his phone used to support it, but the providers don't think much of him anymore - VOLTE doesn't work for him and in short, everyone is giving him shit. In his place of residence, he would like to call via VOLTE WIFI because of insufficient signal, but he can't, because why? because it's not supported because XIAOMI - so many versions of the phone and nadroids and I don't know what. Of course, the iPhone always works in all circumstances, everywhere in the world. I don't know why the phone and the OS are taken so seriously when it is no longer the biggest on the market, but the practice is that providers treat it as if it should be the second-best phone.
I don't know what's the point of 5 years of support when the non-replaceable battery goes away after 2 years. iPhones are ridiculously overpriced and can't do anything better than Android. Their special connector bothers me, USB is enough for everything else.
I'd rather rely on community developers on XDA than Samsung for example. I would probably keep the pre-installed system with the zenfone, because it is close to the stock experience. For example, on my xiaomi, the update to miui 11 was unusable and, most importantly, the bootloader was already unlocked, so the choice was clear.
And where did you get the non-replaceable battery, you stupid mother?? ???
Do you keep chugging Android in your pocket?, just don't spew nonsense?
Just like the user himself, who does not have experience, will not change the battery, only somewhere in the service. It's the same for Android and Apple and no one can comment, it's true. But anyway, please refrain from those words, if you need to brag about your apple, go somewhere else, thanks. I'm also not proud of the 4th year of support at OnePlus, which no one is solving :)
battery, that's the topic. The way I treat it, I get it back - if I put the phone in the sun every day, not much. After a year of using the iPhone 11 for MAX, my battery is in the same condition as when I bought it - I reckon that it won't be any worse after another year. But what should not be forgotten about Apple is that after a year / 2 years of use, I will still sell the phone for such a huge price that the android kid can only dream about it in his wet dreams. in short, apple keeps its price and even though the battery is not great, I will still sell the phone for a decent budget. And those who can cut VAT and know a few tricks can have a new model every year without significant losses :-)
Absurdly overpriced? I used to use Androids too, and Apple is simply the best. I don't understand the nonsense about "cheating" with Apple.. If you tried the iPhone, you might say something different.. Of course, there are many technologies that you can buy for the same price on Android and not on iOS. But it is about the overall user experience and complexity. I can certainly understand the Android user (it's about preferences), but the iPhone is overall more refined, reliable, etc.
It's more about who has what preferences, for example, for the price of an iPhone, I usually buy 4 phones in 5 to 2 years, that is, I have a new phone and it will also be updated, moreover, I don't want to go around with the old bag even if the battery is updated can't wait, my friend has an iphone 6 and she doesn't update because she's afraid something will go wrong again..
Exactly, I prefer two androids, one is happy to have bought something new
Well, with Xiaomi I have guaranteed support for weekly updates for 2 years... I usually change my phone after a year and a half, either because of the battery or because of progress, so any 5-year support is shit? just look at the ip6s, 7 they have support but today they are a useless piece of scrap at a high price
And you had to poke around... Well, kudos to Apple magazine
I like the hatred of some people. They immediately send the author to hell and curse. Think about yourselves people.
Aimed at those cursing individuals not all.
It's enough to have a very normal opinion and not immediately send people to hell and scold them just because he writes an article.
But as they say 100 people 100 tastes. The frog war won't just end like this.
I completely agree with you Venco. It's embarrassing and disgusting. Instead of writing reasonable observations and comments that could help someone with a decision or reveal a hidden function, demented people pour out their complexes here because they are anonymous and stupid. But unfortunately, it's not just Android vs iOS in almost every discussion... It's a shame, when you want to learn something interesting, some insight has to sift through the garbage :(
If I have a phone for more than two years, it's more like a miracle. Comparing ios on iPhone with android on Samsung is nonsense.
The only one that should be compared in this regard is the Google pixel.
Anyway, I have to admit that Apple is 100% ahead of the pixel in this regard.
People here are arguing about Apple or Android. It's electronics, just a consumer product, isn't it a religion??
Is it religion for apple lovers? Just look at Petr Mára, for example. He clearly describes himself as a technological evangelist. Which I think is just bullshit because technology is a tool and not a thing that should influence your thinking.
Petr Mara is a shame for all Apple fans, because even a centenarian's anger will make sense to him. He shakes two out of three according to what his sponsors prescribe.
Petr Mára is an Apple employee or works for them, therefore, "whose bread you eat, sing his song."
I would say that longer support does not only apply to the Google Pixel, but also to many phones with a pure Android system. For example, I have a Nokia - the model is already 2 years old and I still get the latest updates on time. And as far as I know, even older models get updates. I understand that Apple's long-term support is a big plus for a lot of people, but I don't think it's right to compare it to anything other than another clean version of another system, because it takes some extra time to modify the system superstructure...
Totally agree, apparently the concept called Android One, or pure system with five years of support, did not reach the author. I also have a Nokia and I can't say enough...
I don't know, but citing Samsung as an example to compare with Apple is not quite right. There are clouds of manufacturers. And everyone cares differently.
I'm a user who hasn't used just one mobile for a few years, and I like change. So my personal phone is Android, my work phone was Windows, and now iOS for a few years. And since I have a direct comparison, I have to say that Samsung reached the very bottom of usability for me years ago. My first and really good Samsung was the Galaxy S II, but there are times when you could talk about the highest Samsungs as flagships. Yes, the first versions were, they were truly flagships, but that was many years ago. I considered the Galaxy S II, Galaxy Note, then the Galaxy S3 and Note 2 to be the top, but then somehow the spirit of the legendary top started to disappear. The S4 was similar to the S3 and did not bring anything significant. The Note 3 had a worse 12 Mpx photo than the 8 Mpx of the Note 2.
The Note 4 was a bit of an improvement, but then came the issue of defective batteries and all Samsungs, unfortunately even the previous ones, got an update. This update caused everyone to either not charge the phone to more than 65% or charge it to 100%, but in the first few tens of minutes the capacity dropped at a crazy speed and stopped at 65-67%.
What are we going to lie to, who wants a mobile phone charged to 2/3? – no one.
In addition, Chinese brands such as Xiaomi appeared at that time. What are we talking about, only desperadoes with an empty brain buy Samsung these days. If you want a decent Android, you should go for a Chinese brand. And no wonder. Now you're asking the question, but the sales numbers say otherwise. Yes, the Gaussian curve of education also speaks clearly. The most average-minded and average-dull people are the most in the world, i.e. in the middle of the Gaussian curve...
And whoever buys an iPhine with iOS, if he is not crazy about new models, he will certainly find the right iPhone among a number of new or older models, and if he likes it and likes it, he is willing to have it for several years. E.g. I went for an iPhone Xr, which is about a year old model, otherwise new and still successfully sold, it will be a year since I have it and I will definitely not change it just like that. It suits me on all sides and not to mention the photos, they are at the highest level that I have tried in years and will be for a long time...
And the support is related to that.
I still have a Note 3, functional, with a new battery, Android 5.0, lasts about half a day, retro design, 0 quality photos.
I have a new "realme 5 Pro", it absolutely cannot be compared to the former flagship, which after 5 years is practically useless.
I also have a working Lumia 950 XL, it has third party app support so it's better than the Note 3.
But it can't be compared to the iPhone SE I have, iOS 13.5.1 and waiting for iOS 14. Even the iPhone SE, which is already degrading its battery and maintains a maximum of 87%, is much better than the Note 3 in terms of durability.
But you know what, a Gaussian curve is a Gaussian curve and you can't just explain it to her, after all, in TV commercials and in flyers they write how amazing the Galaxy S10 and S20 are... and more...
So let them believe it!
The best photos are taken by Huawei P40 pro and others, iPhones are up to some 10th place and lower. If you look at the Gaussian curve, it fits the iPhone, people with strong below-average IQs buy it, aren't there really hindbrain athletes in America??? I would also like to try real tests, I have the Halaxy S20 ultra, the front S10 and everything is great without a problem. I also have a Pixel 4 and an iPhone 11pro max. The Samsung s20 ultra takes the best photos in my opinion, and actually also according to doxomark.
So good try????
This is an advantage when one has access to long-term mobile testing.
You can't compare Android vs iOS, it's like comparing a smartphone with some geek. But even so, for below-average individuals with a lower IQ, iOS is too smart, maybe that's why they are the majority of buyers.
You showed yourself where you belong with your comment.
That's why, for example, Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates or Xiaomi boss Lei Jun use iPhone, right? :D
Ugh apple, I never wanted it and I don't want it, it's not even an apple shit, the ios was and will be
You clearly win the prize for the most useless comment in this discussion! :)
An "apple user" who doesn't know Android can hardly know that Android is open source and thus everyone can build their own rom. For example, I have a Redmi 4 prime, it's a 2016 phone, originally android 6, now I've compiled android 10. Latest security patches. So the support is a fart, just don't be a greased broom and use your brain.
You're mixing apples and pears... A normal person doesn't compile their ROM... Regardless, that's not what the article is about, so it would be nice to open your eyes, read, engage your brain and understand. I've had a lot of fun with flashing, for work I need something that works 24/7, doesn't drain the battery because of a poorly written app or get a notification for the same. Therefore, we have 4 Androids in the family (wife and children for normal functioning) and 1 iPhone.
I envy Apple users long support, no android will offer this. And with the update it's not so true, I own a pixel phone and I have it available immediately after the release of the new android... This is a problem of manufacturers and their add-ons, even though Google releases betas all year round. I used to find understanding for short support where the phones didn't have such performance for the new software and it wasn't well optimized but nowadays? !?
But these are completely different systems, so for example Samsung Galaxy S had widgets ten years ago, while Apple only has it now. What is important, however, is the length of security support, which Samsungs have, for example, for four years, i.e. only a year shorter than the iPhone 6. And what should it do me if I get a new iOS half a year before someone else gets a new Android? I wonder if the author also has a five-year-old cell phone for everyone to envy. From what I've seen, the Apple iPhone 6s run quite slowly. But so that it doesn't seem like only expensive Androids have long support, for example a redmi 4x had it for more than three years. So the article is again just a bunch of misleading information, and as a result, the overwhelming majority of people will buy a new mobile phone within three years at the latest, rather than having to deal with an expensive battery replacement. And the rest will survive the year without support, a large part of people are still afraid of updates. So to sum it up, I definitely don't envy anyone a five year old iPhone 6s with a crappy display and a tragic flashlight.
If you want to compare, compare comparables. That is, with Pixels... But then it wouldn't look so nice for the iPhone..
I don't have to be jealous because I have a Custom ROM, so I have even longer support than the Apple users
It doesn't matter what you use, whether it's iPhone or Android, it's all up to your taste, both systems are good, you just have to understand them and the updates are there so you can buy a new one after a while, the best strategy is Apple, the iPhone 4s was unusable after the ninth update, it crashes and it's the same on Android, it's all about hardware small ram nothing works
I have both iOS and Android, I can't say that iOS would swallow me up. If I take control, settings, Android is easier in this direction. Another thing is that my phones hardly make it past the 3 year mark. If I take progress, like a camera, 5G, my 5 year old phone will be useless. Another thing is that Google offers 15g of free cloud, Samsung too, iOS only 5g, which is not even enough for my backup. It follows that you still have to pay something for iOS. And lastly, I have to laugh when Apple starts ringing in the subway or somewhere else where there are a lot of people, you see who has everything Apple. Bottom line, I don't like Apple, I don't like their policies. The problem with Android is that every manufacturer has to build their own add-on into it. Happy people who have pure Android.
I'm sorry, but the author of this article is stuck 5 years back.
I've had a first generation Nokia flagship (8) for over two years now and it's still getting updates. Phones with Android One are guaranteed for 5 years (of which 2-3 years for system update, followed by security patch.) which include Motorola, Nokia and nowadays Sony.
People like the author of the article prove to us every day how toxic fanboyism is and how it can blind a person to the facts.
It's common knowledge that Apple supports phones longer. The question is how much it benefits the user. For example, the latest iOS will reportedly include widgets. But Android has been able to do this for over 5 years, so its users don't need the latest Android 11.
I don't know about Apple, but the new version of Android basically brings nothing to the average user.
Many Android users probably grew up on Windows. I think most don't feel the need to install the latest Windows on their iron. Resp. when I was digging into everything and trying everything in high school, I had that need, but I've grown out of it, probably like most people. Now I don't bother with what works and I'm glad it works.
I used to swear at Apple, but after four years at Samsung, I'm starting to like Apple. Especially when the price goes down. For example, the last good Samsung was the S10, then it went down the drain.
Again, Apple is doing stupid things in terms of things in the package that you have to buy.
I would like to upgrade to an iPhone that will have 4K 60FPS. And that's not the only simple reason. I know that Apple approves well-optimized applications. Maybe it doesn't work on any android brand. However, I am still bothered by certain limitations, such as sending images via Bluetooth, or that you cannot modify your mobile yourself. So you can immediately forget about such a change to the launcher, for example.
Huawei doesn't have to rely on google because it can't use Google services.
Pixel and others with "pure" Android have long enough support and when it comes out, they have it right away, just like with iOS. If the support ends, you can root or unlock the bootloader and upload a custom ROM, even a layman can do it. But basically I agree, if you have a Samsung and others, bad luck. Honestly, I have not used a mobile for more than 2 years, there is a decent step in technology in those two years. But I understand that technically not very literate people keep their phones for a long time, mostly older people. I think a maximum of 3 years, even at Apple, which is very late in development and keeps recycling and not releasing anything new. See iphoneX and iPhone 11pro, no big leap. Even the 12-digit will still have an ugly notch, so maybe in a year, they will finally hide it under the display.
You guys, so that you elites from Apple really don't screw up anymore?
The classic nonsense of a frustrated apple-picker. Who would carry an iPhone 5 or 6? Despite the fact that they slowed down the software with the update because of the battery. Scam ala Apple.
Iphone is the best phone in the world! I've been using it for a year and the battery is 98% in good condition! Iphones are expensive but excellently made, I had several Asian cheap phones and several from Samsung and it was a disappointment! I have an iPhone Xr 64Gb for a year and I am completely satisfied! Don't believe liars who don't understand quality! Hello Apples!
I agree. I also had brand flags with android, but after some time there were jams, or random problems with the camera, etc., the battery percentage sometimes literally disappeared before my eyes. So I tried iOS, I have an iPhone Xr 256Gb and it's a great phone. Fast, no system stuttering, enough storage and that battery life!
And do you know the quality that you are looking at a display made by Samsung?
and how does it relate to Android or iOS?
Me, the author of the article is certainly an expert on the given issue. It looks good at first sight ;-)
Well, it's great that the support of the apple is 5 years? But that's completely useless. After 5 years, the phone still can't handle anything and only runs basic applications. And I'm not talking about the deliberate slowing down of older iPhones, the lack of memory and the battery being written off after such a long time. So if someone wants to put Apple on top because of 5 years of support, then they are an idiot... Sorry. If I wanted to put Apple on top, it's because of their infrastructure and ecosystems between all their products, but that's it. They don't have the upper hand in anything else. I will buy an Android phone 10k cheaper and better in every way. From the camera to the display. If Huawei had not been hit by sanctions, Apple would be in a lot of trouble. And now some apple guy can start talking about Huawei China, shit, etc... Those phones are top of the line and are better than apples in every way...
Personal experience with the 6s (2015) and SE (2016) says that the slowdown is not noticeable. Both have iOS 13 and will get iOS 14. Both phones have had the battery replaced once.
It is interesting that the articles on jablíčkář.cz are read by many Android users. Why? Are they interested in Apple news? And is it the other way around?
Very entertaining debate. For one, it's full of Android fans - the question is, why are they reading an Apple-centric site? Well, I may be an atypical user, but I fully agree with the article. I'm 50, I have a 1st generation SE, before that I had 3 others, I'm still waiting for an iPhone that won't be big (and I'm 2 meters tall and have hands like shovels). It's not that I can't buy the very latest every year. I can, I don't want to. At home, I have a plasma TV with FullHD - no 4K, 8K, 3D - simply "just" a quality picture. I shoot video and take photos on the iphoneSE - and that's just enough for me. I don't have to have 15 Mpx, I send what I take to my own NAS, edit it on a PC, show it on TV, share it only with my family. Am I atypical? I don't think so. I'm caught up in the Apple ecosystem - clear and happy. That's why I don't spit on Android and I don't understand the arguments in this discussion at all. I live and let live.
what about the ecological side of the "I buy a new android every 2 years" approach? what will it look like here in 20 years when 80% of the planet behaves like this?
As long-term updates have been being dealt with lately, I also took and tried an iPhone, specifically the older version of IP7.
In short: I was surprised how the iPhone very aggressively kills applications, I don't understand why.
+ Extremely slow and inaccurate Touch ID, in reality it is worse than readers in the display.
It's nice that it has the latest iOS, but loading sometimes takes longer, etc. I don't know, but for the average user it probably doesn't matter, but I would have replaced it a long time ago even if it had support for as long as it wants.
As a result, I was very happy to return.
Apple has great marketing, everything.. Otherwise, a waste of money, if it was the best in photography, the battery would last, but unfortunately it falters.. So hearing that they have 5 years of support and other nonsense makes me laugh? I'd rather make swallows with that extra money and will it still be more meaningful than throwing it in their piggy bank?
Phone without tracking = clean ROM (even without the Store ecosystem) iOS can't do it.
The phone cannot do without ads in applications or on the iOS website.
Connecting to the dock and the iOS desktop environment will not work.
iOS 5 cannot be installed on iPhone 14.
Android things can usually be upgraded in a larger time span than 2, 5 or 7 years. I'm not just writing about higher models. I saw an android phone from 2011 that had all the apps working, including the launcher that I use on a much newer phone. (with a ROM size of 240MB).
Support? I don't think there is support comparable to Android support on XDA. I carry my mobile phone in a flip case and according to the number of cuts, I avoided five repairs to the damaged display. There is no iOS car radio or iOS programmable television.
