June is approaching, and that means, among other things, the arrival of new versions of the operating systems iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS and watchOS. I don't know anyone who follows the events in the apple world and was not excited about the conference. What else we will see during WWDC is still in the stars, but some of Apple's steps are not so mysterious and, from my point of view, clearly show which system the Cupertino company will prefer. My opinion is that one of the main blockbusters could be the redesigned iPadOS. Why am I betting on a system for apple tablets? I will try to explain everything to you clearly.

iPadOS is an immature system, but the iPad is powered by a powerful processor

When Apple introduced the new iPad Pro with the M1 in April of this year, its performance stunned practically everyone who follows technology in more detail. However, the Californian giant still has the handbrake on, and the M1 simply cannot run at full speed in the iPad. From the very beginning it was clear to everyone that due to the style of work that most of us do on the iPad, practically only professionals can use the new processor and higher operating memory.

But now rather sad information is surfacing. Although the developers of the most advanced programs try to make their software use the M1's performance to the maximum, the tablet operating system is significantly limits. In particular, one application can take only 5 GB of RAM for itself, which is not very much when working with multiple layers for videos or drawings.

Why would Apple use the M1 if it had to put iPads on the back burner?

It's hard for me to imagine that a company with such sophisticated marketing and financial resources as Apple would use the best that it has in its portfolio in a device for which it would not prepare something unique. In addition, iPads are still driving the tablet market and have become even more popular among customers in the time of the coronavirus. At the Spring Loaded Keynote, where we saw the new iPad Pro with a computer processor, there wasn't much room to highlight the system, but the WWDC developer conference is the ideal place for us to see something revolutionary.

I really strongly believe that Apple will focus on iPadOS and show consumers the meaning of the M1 processor in a mobile device. But to confess, although I am an optimist and a supporter of the tablet philosophy, now I also recognize that such a powerful processor in a tablet is almost useless. I honestly don't care if we run macOS here, applications ported from it, or if Apple comes up with its own solution and special developer tools that will make it possible to develop more advanced programs for the iPad.
