At first glance, more than 180 games may seem like a strong argument for paying a monthly subscription of CZK 139 for access to them. But it's not as rosy as it might seem. This is the second time I have canceled my subscription and I strongly doubt that Apple will talk me out of it in the next period. He has nothing. When Apple Arcade launched, I didn't hide my excitement. Apple announced something like a hundred original titles, of which I tried 73 in about half a year. And now the question is whether it is good or not. Practically, only one of the offered titles stuck in my mind, namely Sayonara Wild Hearts, although of course the platform offers more interesting ones. The rest were simply tried and deleted, or played only for a short time, more out of curiosity.

New titles were added not by dozens, but by units, and since the interesting ones were already played by me, I deactivated the service. There was no point in returning to playing the titles again. I only renewed my subscription with the purchase of a new iPhone in the family, i.e. with a family subscription, when access to content was free for 6 months. But this period is now over and with it my further interest in this platform.

New games like saffron

12 - that's how many new games Apple has added to its Arcade platform since the beginning of the year. So in 6 months. Are so few titles really going to keep you subscribed when you don't have to have something to interest you in every one of them? Of course not. That's why Apple has thrown in a classic collection with 30 titles, which, however, are very similar to the original ones, because if nothing else, the total number of available games will increase dramatically. But why would you want to play e.g. Fruit Ninja, when there is a sequel available in the App Store that is free and improved in every way?

In addition, a game was released at the end of May All of you. It's been two months since Arcade last saw a new title. Then last week the title was added Legends of KingdomRush. Maybe with the coming summer, the company will go to the weekly introduction of new products, but when four titles are added a month, it is still a bit low. Currently, the arrival of titles has been announced Alto's Odyssey: The Lost City, Angry Birds Reloaded or Doodle god universe. However, the dates of arrival in the App Store are not known.

No news, no potential

I was honestly hoping to hear about a new direction for the service at WWDC, and a breath of fresh air that would determine a new and better targeting of the entire platform, perhaps in the form of a stream of present content instead of having to install titles on devices that often exceed 3GB in size. It didn't happen and I honestly don't hope it ever will. The promising service may thus only become an alternative for a few passionate players who strictly reject freemium models with their in-app purchases. And the fact that Apple started handing out prizes across the platform won't change anything about it, when in the Apple Design Awards it awarded titles like Little orpheus or Alba.

And honestly, I don't even think the fact will change the situation in any way more driver support, or the customization option virtual drivers. It might improve the game experience, but the aftertaste from the whole incomplete concept will still remain.
