Vratislav Holub After a long wait, we finally got it. Yesterday, through a press release, Apple presented us with the brand new iPhone SE, i.e. a pleasant compact with devilish performance. As can be seen at first glance, iPhone SE 2nd generation is based on the iPhone 8. Apple heard the calls of some fans of the apple company, who are not satisfied with Face ID, and decided to bring back the Home Button on the scene with touch ID. In this article, however, we will not focus on the news in hardware or software. Rather, we will think about the entire device, i.e. for whom it is suitable and what opinion we share about it in the editorial office.

This cheaper iPhone, which combined a compact size with perfect performance, immediately became the perfect solution for various groups of people. But what's most interesting about the phone is probably its price tag. This little thing is available already from 12 CZK in basic configuration. So when we compare it with, for example, the iPhone 11 Pro, it is 17 thousand cheaper phone. The most important component of this phone is undoubtedly its processor. It is about Apple A13 Bionic, which is found in the aforementioned iPhone 11 and 11 Pro (Max) series.

Apple follows the so-called five-year cycle, thanks to which even older iPhones get constant support and updates. The new addition to the family of Apple phones should therefore offer a long life, which the competition will definitely not offer you for the same price tag. The 2nd generation SE model thus directly opens the imaginary door for all those who want to taste the apple ecosystem and thus step into the family of Apple products for the first time. In addition, I noticed from my own surroundings that quite a few users of older Apple phones were literally craving the new iPhone SE. But why didn't they switch to a new one, for example iPhone 11, which is available at a great price and offers perfect performance? There can be several reasons. No one can deny the popularity of Touch ID biometric authentication, and even we have to admit that, for example, in the current situation where it is mandatory to wear face masks, Touch ID is more useful than Face ID. Another reason could be just that Low price. In short, a lot of people don't want to pay more than twenty thousand crowns for a phone that they use, for example, only for social networks and contact with friends.

Some users of competing phones may argue that the iPhone SE 2nd generation is relatively "obsolete” and in 2020 there is no place for a phone with such huge frames. Here these people are partly right. Technologies are constantly moving forward, and it is with the competition that we can see how easy it is to come up with a full-screen display and offer such a machine at a low price. What you won't get from the competition for less than 13 is the aforementioned Apple A13 Bionic chip. It is a state-of-the-art mobile processor that can take care of perfect performance and you are unlikely to encounter any jams. This is exactly what makes the iPhone SE the perfect phone that offers undeniably extreme performance and longevity.
Why didn't Apple release the iPhone SE earlier?
Fans of the first generation of this phone have been clamoring for a new model for years. Of course, it is difficult to determine why we did not get the second generation a little earlier. But Apple hit the nail on the head with the release date. Currently, the world is plagued by an ever-expanding pandemic of a new type coronavir, which significantly slows down the economy and many people have lost their incomes or even lost their jobs. Because of this, it's only natural that people stop spending so much and definitely don't buy from year to year anymore flagships. The Californian giant has currently brought a perfect phone in proportion to the market price performance, which no one else can offer you. We can now also see a huge advantage in the return of Touch ID technology. Since we now have to wear masks outside the home, Face ID becomes unusable for us, which can slow us down, for example, when paying through Apple Pay. As I already pointed out about the competition, it goes without saying that it can offer you for the given price better phone on paper. But it is also necessary to look a little ahead. A competitor's phone will not offer you such a long service life and, of course, will not allow you to enter the Apple ecosystem.
Nový iPhone SE we could therefore recommend it to all users of older apple phones and especially to people who are considering entering the apple ecosystem. You forgot to mention the most important thing and that is the dimensions. The iphone se2 being the way it is has killed any hope of the size of the iphone se1. So I and many others have no choice but to settle for size se2. The iPhone 11 is simply a trop.
Mobile phones are constantly getting bigger, offering their users a larger workspace. I would say that nowadays there is no place for a phone with a 4″ display. I used an iPhone 5S myself for a few years and couldn't imagine ever having a bigger phone. However, after switching to the iPhone X, I changed my mind very quickly, and the size of my "X" seems just right for me. In any case, it is clear that some users would rather appreciate a phone with more compact dimensions, which is exactly what I consider the new iPhone SE to be.
But the point is that it is actually not more compact. I recommend comparing it to your X - how much bigger is X? About nothing. I'll buy a used Xs for the same price, so why buy this when the Xs is practically the exact same size?
There is no mention of the 5,5" variant anywhere. Will this variant also be on the market, or was it just a hoax?
