It's still not entirely clear that many of Apple's services, with the exception of Apple Music, have had any visible success. Apple TV+ is losing on its model of exclusive content (although it is marked as very high quality), Fitness+ and News+ are not even available in our country, so mass success is not yet in sight in their case. But then there's Apple Arcade, a relatively inconspicuous service that may surprise many.

Get a free year of Apple TV+ when you buy a new Apple device, Apple Arcade then for three months. If you add the classic trial period, you have 4 months of undisturbed gaming (without ads and microtransactions), during which you will clearly know whether you will continue to use the service or not. If so, CZK 139 per month is very nice money for such a wide range of titles. Apple Arcade but it is also part of the subscription Apple One, where for 285 CZK per month you also get Apple Music, Apple TV+ and 50 GB on iCloud.

Apple one

It's been two years since the March 2019 events focused on Apple's services Arcade presented, a year and a half since the sharp launch of the platform. When Apple reported the number of titles in the beginning, even if the number itself was not dazzling, it simply took a while to try them all. Maybe because they were all Apple Arcade exclusive, and maybe because too much was expected from the service. However, these were often just simple games that did not bring many ideas. Of course, there were exceptions, such as the wonderful Sayonara It Hearts, or titles like that that were truly cross-platform, so you could play them on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Mac. Although there were as many as saffron.

After a while, you willy-nilly played all the interesting titles (in the case of the author of this article there were 73 of them) and found out that the platform doesn't really have much to offer you anymore. New titles were added slowly, and they weren't always the kind of games that caught your attention - now in Apple Arcade you will find over 180. Mainly for all lovers of mobile games, the service has added one real gimmick – returning legendary titles.

Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), Arcade changes strategy

It can be seen that the original goal of the service did not work out. This was to offer exclusive content that you won't find anywhere else and you can play it only as part of a subscription, but for that on all the company's devices. It's good that Apple is evolving and changing its original plans. At Apple Arcade because currently you will not only find exclusive games, but also those that Apple calls App Legends Store.

These are old games that are no longer in the App Store commonly available, but at the same time they are updated so that you can still play them today, within Apple Arcade. These are, for example, BADLAND, Chameleon Run, Mini Metro, Monument ValleyReignsThe Room and more. It is indeed a paradox that the service is looking to the past rather than the future, but it is to its credit that even if it is in such a peculiar way, it is at least expanding its portfolio somewhat. New titles such as Star TrekLegends or Fantasian, of course there are still more.

What's next and what could be next?

I once canceled my subscription after about three quarters of a year of subscribing to the service and installing and deleting games one after the other, only to renew it now and give this concept another chance. I see the potential there, and I find the service very nice. With the current remastering of old titles, we could also look forward to the legendary Infinity series Blade, and you just want that.

Apple Arcade skate FB

But what you don't want is to have a device with a small internal storage capacity. 64 GB is simply not enough - time will tell streaming. And even if Apple doesn't want platforms streaming let iOS games go, he could at least learn from them and get started to stream alone. Internet connection is almost everywhere, regardless of the possibility of data plans with large ones FUPs (personally I have 20 GB per month). So I would like Apple to remove the need to install games from Apple Arcade and start them straight away, while the operation would be taken care of directly by u Apple and I would only use my device as a display. This would be a clear choice for me in the future, thanks to which I would stay with Apple Arcade he stayed and didn't disturb him again for maybe a month. Will we see iOS 15? And will we see a new Apple TV?

Nový smart the Apple TV box could also help the service a lot. Having a wide variety of games that you could play on a TV with a suitable controller, which is also being hotly speculated, could replace the regular Playstation, Xbox, etc. consoles for casual gamers. Here, with the advantage that once they left their living rooms, they could continue on their mobiles and tablets.
