At the end of the week, Apple surprisingly presented brand new AirPods with the nickname Pro, and after the first impressions, the first models are slowly but surely starting to get into the hands of the fastest lucky ones. Along with that comes the increased amount of information available about AirPods Pro. The interesting ones include, for example, information about how the new model is doing with repair prices.

Specific prices in crowns are not yet known, but the conversion from dollars will serve as a guide. If you lose or destroy one of the AirPods Pro, Apple will charge you $89 for a new replacement (that is, roughly two and a half thousand crowns when customs and VAT are included). The same fee must then be paid in case of replacement of a damaged charging case. If you lose it, the fee is even $99.

In connection with the increase in service prices (by $20 or $30 compared to previous generations of AirPods), AppleCare+ insurance (for $29) looks more advantageous than ever. Unfortunately, we are still not entitled to it in our market, so if you plan to have it, you will have to visit one of the foreign Apple stores.

In the event that you don't lose your new AirPods but only need to replace the worn-out battery, you will pay "only" $49 for both the individual AirPods and the charging box. It follows from the above that in the case of damaged AirPods Pro it is more worthwhile to buy a new one, while in the case of a battery replacement you will (logically) not pay the full price. Even so, this is a relatively high charge, especially in cases where the batteries of intensively used AirPods start to die after about two years of use.
