In the App Store, you can currently find the vast majority of the most interesting keyboards, which until recently were only popular on the Android platform - SwiftKey, Swype or Fleksy. Unfortunately, most of them only supported a handful of the most popular languages at launch. The only exception was the Fleksy keyboard, which included Czech from the beginning. And while SwiftKey should soon receive additional languages, yesterday Nuance updated its Swype keyboard with 15 new languages, including Czech.

Unfortunately, you will not find Slovak among the remaining 14, so our eastern neighbors will have to wait a little longer for the swipe keyboard. In addition to new languages, Emoji help has also been added. The keyboard should recognize the mood of your sentence by itself, and in case of joy, it may automatically offer a smiley. In theory, the help should select the correct emoticon according to the written words, but it only works in a few selected languages. Another novelty is additional layouts, it is possible to choose between QWERTY, QWERTZ and AZERTY variants. The iPad then gained access to all the colorful keyboard themes available on the iPhone.

The Czech version of Swype is practically the first possibility to try this way of writing in practice. You will have to get used to it in the first tens of minutes, but after a few hours or days you will easily get used to the new way and maybe you will start typing faster with one hand than with two thumbs. The Czech dictionary is very comprehensive and after a few hours of use I only had to add a few words to my personal dictionary. The algorithm that guesses the most appropriate word based on your swipe is surprisingly accurate, and I rarely had to correct a word. If Swype didn't guess the word correctly, it usually happened between the three on the bar above the keyboard, where you swipe left or right to switch between other suggested words.

Swype is an excellent alternative to the system keyboard, especially if you often type with one hand. As such, the Czech language in the application itself is a little weak, some phrases are not translated at all, others are translated incorrectly, but this does not change the functionality of the Czech keyboard, which works perfectly. You can find Swype in the App Store for €0,89.
