But keeping track of all the sources can be hellishly difficult, so we have prepared this section for you, where we will briefly summarize some of the most important news of the day and present the hottest daily topics circulating on the Internet.

In the end, the election cost Kanye West a lot. However, he did not succeed

A few years ago, when the famous rapper and singer Kanye West announced to his fans his plan to run in the upcoming American elections, most self-righteous voters just scratched their heads and wondered about another whim of this extravagant artist. Rock lovers were especially surprised by the tendency to stand up to President Donald Trump, to whom Kanye West has quite a lot of sympathy. Nevertheless, the rapper did not let himself be discouraged and, in addition to the very special election program, he also started collecting votes, which he eventually won exactly 60. However, this amount was not free, and as the singer himself admitted, he spent over 9 million dollars for the candidacy, which is still a decent amount compared to the "big players", but it is still a considerable amount of money.

In a total of 12 states where he was on the list of candidates, he paid an average of $150 per vote. In California, he then appeared on the list as a candidate for vice president. Either way, the election became very expensive for the artist and he had to borrow about 10 million dollars for his candidacy. Although he got a million back from subsidies and some surplus remained, it was still a relatively expensive scam. Kanye West fared best in Tennessee, where he received over 10 votes. However, this is not the only independent candidate - rapper Roque De La Fuente also tried his luck, who made a pact with West in California and together the duo won 0.3% of all votes. We'll see if West makes another attempt next term, i.e. in 2024. However, numbers and public interest do not play much into his cards.

YouTube fires into its own ranks. The platform is criticized for spreading misinformation

Although a number of tech giants have spoken positively about the initiative to combat the rapidly spreading misinformation, in the case of Google this effort has somehow fizzled out. At least in the eyes of users and the public, since the YouTube platform, according to many opinions, did not respond effectively to the presence of fake livestreams and let them run free. In particular, the live broadcasts of the station One America News, which preliminarily proclaimed the victory of the current US President Donald Trump, and even published a video where the reporter Christina Bobb accused the Democratic Party of manipulation and fraud with electoral votes, were repeatedly downgraded.

However, this was not the only misstep on the part of YouTube, which did not ban the affected livestreams and instead simply removed their monetization and warned users about potentially inappropriate or false content. But even that didn't stop One America News from spreading misinformation. However, Google has officially commented on the whole matter that the videos in question do not violate the Community Guidelines or Terms of Service, which continued to anger the community. One way or another, the ambivalent approach of this technological giant to such a pressing issue was met with misunderstanding, and while just a few days ago Google intended to fight on all fronts against any form of unconfirmed and unsubstantiated content, in the end the platform decided not to intervene too much.

Steve Bannon has called for violence against Fauci and has been banned multiple times from uploading content

If you at least follow international events closely, you certainly did not miss the multiple mentions of Anthony Fauci, that is, the doctor who holds the top post of the National Office for Allergy and Infectious Diseases. He is a rather controversial figure who is repeatedly accused of failing to handle the coronavirus pandemic, and Fauci has often earned rather unflattering nicknames for his lax approach. In the case of commentator, podcaster and former head of the White House strategy division, Steve Bannon, the situation went even further. After leaving office and leaving his post, Bannon resorted to creating podcasts, especially War Room Pandemic, where he comments on current events.

And it was in one episode of the aforementioned podcast that Bannon said something that really sunk him in the eyes of the tech giants and the public. Steve called for the execution of Fauci and at the same time proclaimed that the head of the head of the FBI, Christopher Wray, should be impaled and placed in front of the White House as a warning. YouTube, of course, reacted appropriately negatively to the exaggerated claims and immediately took down the podcast. Facebook and Twitter, platforms where Bannon often published his videos or commented on current events, were similarly preserved. One way or another, the famous commentator and bureaucrat has fallen out of favor with just about every tech giant. However, it is not the first nor the last, and it can be expected that similar cases will only increase in the following days during such a tense situation.
