Apple also prepares its own software for its products, starting with complex operating systems, through individual programs, to various utilities that facilitate everyday use. In connection with software, the mentioned systems and their possible novelties are most often talked about. But what is more or less forgotten is the apple office package. Apple has been developing its own iWork package for years, and the truth is that it's not a bad thing at all.

In the field of office packages, it is clear a favorite of Microsoft Office. However, it has relatively strong competition in the form of Google Docs, which benefits primarily from the fact that they are available completely free of charge and work without the need to install any software - they run directly as a web application, which means you can access them through a browser. However, as we mentioned above, Apple's iWork is definitely not that far behind, in fact, quite the opposite. It offers a number of important functions, a great and simple user interface and is available to apple growers completely free of charge. But although the software as such is quite capable, it doesn't get the attention it deserves.

Apple should focus on iWork

The iWork office package has been available since 2005. During its existence, it has come a long way and has seen a number of interesting changes and innovations that have moved it several steps forward. Today, it is therefore a relatively important part of the entire apple ecosystem. This means that Apple users have at their disposal a relatively high-quality and, above all, functional office package, which is completely free. Specifically, it consists of three applications. These are the word processor Pages, the spreadsheet program Numbers and the presentation software Keynote. Practically, we can perceive these apps as an alternative to Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Although in terms of more complex and professional functions, iWork lags behind its competition in the form of Microsoft Office, this does not change the fact that these are extremely capable and well-optimized applications that can easily cope with the vast majority of what you can ask of them. In this regard, Apple is often blamed for the absence of some more advanced functions. On the other hand, it is necessary to take into account that most users will never use these options anyway.

But now let's move on to the most important thing. Why does Apple iWork fall so far behind its competition, and why do Apple users ultimately resort to using MS Office or Google Docs? There is a fairly simple answer to this. It is definitely not about the functions themselves. As we have already mentioned in the paragraph above, apple programs easily cope with the vast majority of possible tasks. On the contrary, it is rather that apple users simply do not know about applications such as Pages, Numbers and Keynote, or they are not sure whether they would be able to cope with their requirements. The fundamental problem is also related to this. Apple should definitely pay much more attention to its office package and promote it properly among users. At the moment, only dust is falling on it, figuratively speaking. What is your opinion on iWork? Do you use software from this package or stick with the competition?
