He fell asleep a bit during the pandemic, and it was at that time that similar applications were really powerful. However, it is definitely not the case that Apple has completely forgotten about its application.
There are unexpectedly many titles dedicated to some form of reading in the App Store. But books should have a clear advantage over them, since it is an Apple title after all. In it you will find not only PDF files and classic books, but also audiobooks. Although a partial change is taking place here.

Apple does not draw attention to its Books in any way, nor does it promote them in any way, even when it offers the title separate page, you have to look for it for a while. The slight change that Apple has made is in the form of pushing audiobooks to the back. If you don't have one on your device, and if the application has nothing to offer you, it won't even show you the appropriate menu between the main tabs. After that, the audiobooks are only offered when you click on your profile photo.

Just as it leaned into podcasts, it could also lean into audiobooks, when it would bring a separate title that would offer a comprehensive library of audiobooks available for a single subscription. In that case, it would be undesirable for another application to offer audiobooks.
It happened out of nowhere. Unfortunately, it has been at least 2 years since Apple has not offered audiobooks in CR, and sadly I have to say that I can't even see the two I bought before. Of course, you can upload audiobooks to the app manually, e.g. via iTunes, and then it works fine, but...
