Apple has always included ordinary Lightning connectors with its products, which have often been the target of criticism. Their durability is not the best, and from time to time it has happened to someone that damage has occurred after a certain period of time. Most often, the insulation breaks right at the connector, which makes using such a cable rather dangerous, and therefore it pays to buy a new one. Nowadays, however, the Cupertino giant already includes braided Lightning cables with significantly better resistance to selected products. So let's summarize which piece with the bitten apple logo you can get such a cable with.

There aren't many options

We must point out in advance that you will not get a braided Lightning cable with many products. Currently, this "bonus" can be perceived as slightly luxurious, since the Cupertino giant's offer includes only 4 products, with which Apple also gives you this indispensable accessory. Specifically, it is a Mac Pro, the price of which can rise to almost 2 million crowns, a 24″ iMac with an M1 chip (2021) and a new Magic Keyboard with Touch ID (available in a version with and without a numeric keypad).

With which products does Apple bundle a braided Lightning cable:

  • Mac Pro (2019)
  • 24″ iMac (2021)
  • Magic Keyboard with Touch ID (no numeric keypad)
  • Magic Keyboard with Touch ID (with numeric keypad)
Braided Lightning/USB-C cable from Belkin
For example, Belkin also sells braided Lightning/USB-C

Will we see a braided cable as standard?

At the moment, it is not even clear whether Apple will bundle braided cables with more products in the future, or whether this will become a new standard. It is safe to say that the Cupertino giant would please the vast majority of apple lovers with this move. As we mentioned above, current cables can be damaged quite quickly, which is why users still choose non-original pieces that are in a much better condition.
