On Wednesday, the city council of the city of Cupertino approved the construction of a new Apple campus and now it has also released a video of the press conference, which also featured the CFO of the California company, Peter Oppenheimer. He thanked for approving the project and shared a few more details…

This is a very special moment for Apple. We have invested a lot of love and energy into this campus and we can't wait to start building it. Apple is at home in Cupertino. We love Cupertino, we're proud to be here, and we're excited that Apple Campus 2 can be a part of it.

We will build the best offices anyone has ever built and put a 400 hectare park around them, restoring the natural beauty of the place. It will be home to the best team in the entire industry, able to innovate here for decades to come.

We are very grateful to the city council, city employees and especially to our neighbors and citizens of Cupertino and surrounding areas who have supported us throughout.

Oppenheimer also stated in his speech that the new Apple campus will have no competition in terms of environmental friendliness among buildings of a similar volume. The apple company will use water and land efficiently, and 70 percent of its energy will come from solar and fuel cells, with the rest coming from "green" sources in California.
