The upcoming auction for charity under the auspices of (RED) by U2 singer Bono has already been mentioned written a lot. Cooperation (RED) with Apple goes back deep into the past and today Apple offers special editions of its products where part of the money goes to charity. The auction is all the more interesting because the court designer, Jony Ive, together with Marc Newson, is one of the world's most influential designers who designs, for example, airplanes or furniture.

This pair took on the role of curators who select individual products. As Jony Ive explains in a newly released video, the main criterion was that they themselves would want to buy such a product. Most of the products that will appear in the auction have been slightly altered to carry the (RED) spirit, for example the unique red Mac Pro, which both Ive and Newson see as a good example of modern design.

Probably the most interesting item in the entire auction is then Leica camera, on which the two designers collaborated, making it the only piece in the world. After all, more such products will be seen, because Ive and Newson were not only "improving" already existing products, but also creating completely new ones. For example, a unique aluminum table, which is also the result of the collaboration of both design experts. As for Leica, Jony Ive believes the price will climb to six million dollars.

However, the main face of the video is Bono himself, who towards the end admires the unique design of the life-saving pills. Not in terms of appearance, but function. Proceeds from the auction will be used to fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.
