Apple picker The statistics of mobile operators speak clearly. Unlimited tariffs are not really worth much. In reality, only a fifth of customers use them. The others are unnecessarily overpaying. How are you doing?
In the spring of 2013, domestic operators came with advantageous unlimited tariffs. Until then, they were almost unaffordable for most customers. Few people were willing to pay a four-figure sum for such a tariff. But when unlimited appeared on the market O2 tariffs at an attractive price 749 CZK, many people did not think long and applied for the offer.
It didn't take long and other big operators decided to take advantage of the big mobile boom. Unlimited T-Mobile tariffs together with Vodafone tariffs were practically identical to the offer from O2. It was as much a challenge to customers as a red rag to a bull. They subscribed to operators in droves for two years, without thoroughly considering whether such a tariff even suited them it pays off.
More than 80% of customers could have a better tariff
The offer of unlimited calls, SMS messages and a large amount of mobile data seems attractive. Finally, there was no need to decide whether the call was already too long or whether the number of messages sent would fit within the monthly limit.
Nevertheless, according to the statistics of mobile operators, such a tariff is only approximately worth it every fifth customer. Others might come across offers from their operator that would probably be more advantageous for them.
How much can you save per call?

You enter the monthly expenditure, the number of minutes called, text messages sent and the amount of mobile data used into the calculator. Based on this data, you will immediately get clear comparison of the offers of individual operators. You will find out for yourself whether you could pay much less for the same services with a different tariff.
If an unlimited tariff, then only a non-public one
Are you constantly "on the wire" and an unlimited tariff brings you great freedom? If you don't want to give it up, use tempting non-public offers, which are significantly cheaper than the regular prices of unlimited tariffs. Asking for them at the branch is already a lost battle, because they probably won't tell you about them.

I have an unlimited plan. I don't think I'll even summon him, I'd have to look at the bill. But I'm enjoying it tremendously that I don't have to deal with it at all. I call anytime, anywhere, and I don't deal with it at all. I don't even have to go through some comparators if I don't want to save somewhere. The invoice will be paid by direct debit, so I don't deal with that either.
For that "feeling of freedom", I think the few hundreds are really worth it.
I have company unlimited only because it has 1,5 GB of data, the other one has only 200 MB and it cannot be increased except by purchasing another 200 MB, which in comparison was cheaper for me to have unlimited for 420 CZK.
Exactly as my colleague Jindřich says: it's nice not having to think about whether and whom I or my wife can call and from which phone. It's worth the few hundred to me. Just like that, I have 3GB of data on my iPad so that I don't have to painstakingly connect the iPad to the iPhone and then glance at the weather map.
But! In total, it's not just a few hundred anymore! And then they refuse to introduce a fixed line to your cottage, even if you pay approx. 2 per month. ! And that's for consideration! You have to buy an LTE cube to be able to access the net and you start thinking about where to cut it so that the behemoth you've been paying for twenty years behaves properly!
I also have an unlimited plan (new) with 5GB of data. I originally had 3GB, but the operator increased it and with free EU roaming. I still pay about 1300 CZK. It is a fact that it is very convenient not to decide if I have "minutes" or enough data. And even in the EU, where I often travel.
With 5GB of data, I don't deal with Wifi anywhere if I'm away from home. I just connect Macbook or Ipad via iPhone Hotspot. It works fine (there are exceptions).
I have the same one for 600 with a 60% "employee" discount.
