Calendar - a native application from Apple, does not have the best rating in the world of iOS users. Especially when we look at what the iPhone version has to offer. Its "sister" designed for the iPad looks completely different, better, it even has a weekly preview. But if we wanted to look for an alternative without having to pay extra, we don't have to look for long.

Popular and minimalistic Calvetica it hit me too. Unfortunately, it cannot be found in the App Store adapted to the needs of a tablet. Fortunately, there is a similar option in many respects and it is free. It bears the name and can be recommended with a clear conscience. Why?

I like the user interface even more for the choice of colors. In the base, it contains only three - gray, white and dark red. While the Apple calendar bets on so-called eye-candy (as well as the Address Book application), Muji will satisfy the adherents of simplicity. It offers daily, weekly, monthly and even yearly previews. We switch between other days/weeks/months/years (depending on the type of active display) either using the buttons on the bottom bar or by dragging the window to the right/left.

Ease of entering new events, moving them and any kind of editing goes hand in hand with simplicity. For the event, we can also add repetitions, of course notifications, but also choose from a few icons that categorize the given event. Not only an event can be added to the calendar, but also a task that is graphically distinguished. In addition, it is not a problem for the application to search for anything.

But the important thing is that Muji works exclusively with Google Calendar. It is therefore not connected to the system (and e.g. iCal), but directly to the Google service. Although you can also have iCal paired with Google - and therefore also the iOS calendar from Apple, if you make a change somewhere (either on the Google website, in iCal or in the iOS calendar), it will be synchronized only after iCal has been synchronized with Google. or Mac OS with iPad. In this regard, Muji compared to the original Apple application Calendar collects points – because it pairs with a Google account using an Internet connection, and therefore without the need to turn on Mac and iTunes. Not even the popular Calvetica for iPhone can do this yet.

The only complaint I would see is that it doesn't support landscape mode, which is absolutely negligible compared to what Muji can do and that you can download it from the App Store for free.
