With just over a week to go until the launch of the new iPhone, expectations are more than high. Some accessory manufacturers have already received specifications or prototypes of the new iPhone from Apple in advance, so that they can put their products on sale in time. The Apple user managed to get exclusive access to a pair of covers that reveal a lot about the smaller 4,7-inch model of the Apple phone. It comes from the workshop of the renowned American packaging manufacturer Ballistic, which has already started producing accessories tailored to the new iPhones in large quantities and has also started distributing them around the world ahead of time.
Apple is widely expected to introduce two new, larger iPhone models next week. The size was almost certain to be 4,7 inches, and it is precisely these dimensions that the cover we discovered also counts on.
According to the first comparison with the iPhone 5, the larger diagonal does not seem to be such a drastic change as we originally expected. Even if we place the phone of the previous generation in the cover, the increase in size does not seem to be so noticeable. However, we will get to know it as soon as we try how such an enlarged screen would theoretically be controlled. It's hard to reach the top opposite corner with one hand, and if you're going to buy an iPhone 6, you can start training your thumb.
It would also be very difficult to reach the top of the phone where the Power button to turn the device on/off was traditionally located. That's why Apple moved it to the right side of the device, which seems like a good move compared to the competition. (For example, the 5-inch HTC One has a similar button on the left edge of the upper side, and turning this phone on with one hand is almost an artistic feat.) The new Power button is higher than the thumb we usually leave when using the device, so the risk of pressing it, for example, when talking on the phone, is reduced.
Although a larger display brings undoubted advantages, most of today's smartphones can hardly be called compact. Especially if you like to carry your iPhone in your pocket, you probably won't appreciate the new larger models. The cover we tested was clearly visible in smaller jeans pockets, and the 5,5-inch model will fare even worse.
Other changes that we can notice thanks to the cover is the new profile of the phone. Apple ditched sharp edges for its upcoming phone and opted for rounded edges instead. This seems to be a bit more pronounced than, for example, the last generation iPod touch. We could see just such a profile in several leaked images of the alleged new iPhone.
As for the connectors, their placement is more or less the same. In the photos, it may appear that there has been more change on the underside, but this is largely due to the cover itself. This is because it is a thick silicone, so the holes in it must be larger in order to connect the Lightning and the audio cable correctly. However, we can still find one peculiarity at the bottom of the cover, namely the missing hole for the microphone. It is therefore possible that on the iPhone 6 we will find the microphone and speakers united on the right part of the bottom side.
We can notice this thanks to the packaging we tested. We can certainly find all of them for the 5,5-inch model, but we have not yet had the opportunity to try the covers for this larger iPhone. The domestic buyer of this accessory received the covers for the 4,7-inch model unusually early (i.e. more than a week before the presentation), but will reportedly have to wait for the larger one. However, we have been assured that they are already on their way. So whether we like it or not, Apple is apparently indeed going to introduce two larger iPhone 6s next Tuesday.
Well, Apple should now comment on the incredible leak of nude photos of celebrities from the photostream from iCloud. This means that even the last data is not secured. The timing is quite interesting. A week before the announcement of new Apple products.
So far, it looks more like it was a password breach than a security flaw in iCloud itself.
It's all so strange. For example, if it was about breaking passwords, then someone had to know the Apple ID of everyone mentioned. And if it was really about trying the most used passwords, the person concerned would probably have to know and try those Apple IDs a lot more. Not everyone has a password set according to the list of the most used, and for each exposed one, they would have to test a significantly larger number of accounts that would not succeed. So if they successfully gained access to a hundred accounts, they would have to have thousands of AppleIDs from that population. And let's face it, even if everyone calls themselves a "celebrity", it's not that easy to get an Apple ID of the order of thousands.
But an Apple ID is an email…and those are relatively well-known. I doubt celebrities would set up an extra mail ID. But just a guess.
Oh my…one of the reasons for moving to the iPhone was the size…if the new sizes are in addition to the current 4″…great. But if it replaces the current size with a 5S, I won't be thrilled :(
I hope they also keep the design like the 5S if the 4" iP remains..
The microphone will be right next to the jack and will have only one hole, that's why the manufacturer of this cover connected it, so the hole for the jack is bigger so that the microphone can take its place. It would be pointless to make another one straight away
I hope that at least the iPhone with a 4″ display remains because I don't like this one very much and it is also against Jobs' philosophy that the mobile phone should be controlled with one hand.
