Apple's Safari browser has faced a lot of criticism in recent years, with many even calling it the modern Internet Explorer. Although in some respects it can really falter and lag behind, for example, the most popular Google Chrome, it is necessary to mention that in the end it is not such a bad option. After all, this is also confirmed by one indisputable fact. If the browser was really that bad, why would most apple users still use it? Therefore, let's shine a light together on the advantages that Safari offers.

Safari or a simple browser for apple users

The Safari browser works on virtually all Apple devices and allows you to browse the web both on Macs and on iPhones and iPads. Although it is true that this browser can display some websites incorrectly and thus face a number of problems, on the other hand it also offers several benefits that can come in handy. It is generally known that, for example, the aforementioned Chrome can fill up all of your operating memory in an instant. After all, when the new Mac Pro with 2019 TB of RAM was released in 1,5, it was possible to drop it by turning on several tabs in this browser. But Safari does not have this problem. At the same time, the apple variant is more friendly to the battery and does not take up as much power. Even so, Safari is quite a fast browser - according to some tests, it even surpasses Chrome in terms of speed.

Speed in Safari

Undoubtedly, one of the main benefits of Safari is its excellent integration with the entire Apple ecosystem. For example, if you use a browser on both an iPhone and a Mac, you share bookmarks and browsing history, which can make life significantly easier. To make matters worse, the Keychain on iCloud tool also comes in here, which is useful for saving passwords and filling them in automatically. Of course, users can easily switch to Chrome on all their devices, but in that case they have to take into account that they will no longer fully enjoy the benefits of the mentioned Keychains.

Apple also takes the role of protecting the privacy of its users. Although we can speculate on this, one thing is certain - Apple will track you a little less than Google. By browsing the Internet through Chrome, you give certain data to Google, which is then used for advertising personalization and better targeting. But Safari, or rather Apple, takes a slightly different route. Today's version also automatically blocks trackers, so you can maximize your privacy. At the same time, we must not forget to mention another great option. Of course, we mean Private Relay from iCloud+, which appears to be a lightweight form of VPN. This technology ensures that you browse the Internet anonymously through the native Safari browser and thus protects your identity. Finally, we must not forget the excellent reader mode. Thanks to it, you can better read individual web pages in Safari, which will be presented in a clearer form for reading.

In something Safari loses

But Safari is not a completely infallible browser, so we have to focus on the opposite side as well. For example, the already mentioned rival Google Chrome offers significantly more options in terms of customization, which also goes against the store with various add-ons. At the same time, in terms of compatibility, Chrome slowly has no competitor. This is because you can install this browser practically anywhere, and after signing in to your Google account, you also get access to all the collected data, which includes not only browsing/download history, but also passwords and more. In addition, as already mentioned above, some websites may have a problem rendering correctly in the Safari browser, which simply does not happen with Chrome.

Will Safari improve its reputation?

In addition, the team working on the Safari browser is currently asking on the social network Twitter about errors that really annoy Apple users. From the looks of it, they probably want to fix a number of (even older) problems that were the impetus for some users to switch to an alternative solution. If you would like to report a bug, you can do so through the native Feedback Assistant app or use the website bugs.webkit.org. How do you view Safari? Is this browser enough for you, or do you prefer to rely on its competition?
