With the arrival of the iPhone 12 series, Apple significantly changed the design of apple phones. It moved from rounded edges back to sharp ones, bringing it noticeably closer to the legendary iPhone 4 in terms of appearance. Apple continued this a year later with the iPhone 13 series.

On the other hand, with the transition to sharp edges, a rather interesting discussion opened up among apple growers. The question arises as to which variant is better, i.e. whether an iPhone with sharp or rounded edges is better. Of course, there is no universal answer and it is purely a question of the preferences of individual apple growers. Let's therefore look directly at their answers and point out the benefits of each variant.

Sharp vs. rounded edges: Which is better?

Apple growers disagree on the issue of sharp vs. rounded edges divide them into two camps. Currently, the more vocal group are fans of sharp edges, who cannot tolerate the current form and are quite frankly happy that Apple has returned to the popular design. According to a number of fans, the iPhone holds up much better in such a case, when the user also has more confidence in the device and is not afraid of encountering, for example, a fall or other difficulties. According to some, sharp edges are also more premium in a way and simply look better.

On the other hand, all mentioned "benefits" must be taken with a grain of salt. This is a highly subjective opinion. After all, this is precisely why even an apple picker, who on the other hand prefers rounded edges, lists the same advantages. These users place perhaps the greatest emphasis on overall aesthetics and appearance. It's true that in this respect, iPhones have something about them that makes them feel more valuable, while a phone with sharp edges can remind someone of a brick. So if we were to summarize it, we won't get an answer. It always depends on each apple grower and his own preferences. In any case, both sides of the barricade agree on one thing in some cases. Phones with sharp edges are better to hold and have more confidence of the particular apple user. So, at least in this respect, we can call the iPhone 12 and later the winner.

iPads

Practically the same discussion also affects users of apple tablets. Until recently, iPads had a rounded design, as in the case of iPhones, which Apple is gradually moving away from. Currently, only the classic iPad boasts rounded edges, while the Pro, Air and mini models have more or less unified the design and opted for sharp edges, which are much more popular in these specific cases.

iPhone 14 (Pro)

Apple should continue the currently established trend of iPhones with sharp edges. Already this week, we will be presented with the expected iPhone 14 (Pro) series, which, according to various leaks and speculations, should have sharp edges and practically the same body as we are used to with the previous series. What is your opinion on iPhones? Do you think the newer sharp-edged models are better, or would Apple do best to return to the earlier rounded-edged design?
