As a potential alternative, a traditional 5W charger is offered, which the Cupertino giant included in every package even before the arrival of the iPhone 12 (Pro). The difference between them is quite simple – while the 20W charger enables so-called fast charging, where it can charge the phone from 0 to 50% in just 30 minutes, in the case of the 5W adapter the whole process is much slower due to the weaker power. It should also be added that fast charging is supported only by iPhone 8 (2017) and later.

But from time to time, a discussion opens up among Apple users about whether it is possible to charge the iPhone with an even more powerful adapter. Some users have even met situations, when they wanted to use the charger of their MacBook for charging, but the seller directly discouraged them from doing so.
