You can play a big show even with a small puppet. In some ways, this adage has long been a metaphor, but it is still relevant in many other industries, such as portable speakers. JBL GO, the imaginary smallest and youngest sibling of the speaker family from JBL, is the smallest, but on the other hand, also the most compact – it fits in your back pocket of your pants or in your jacket, and at the same time you don't have to be ashamed of it in public.

During testing, we thought for whom and what target group this speaker is actually intended for, and – as the name itself suggests – it is above all a clear choice for traveling. It's fine for home gaming, but if you own a hi-fi set or a more powerful speaker, the JBL GO doesn't make sense. Where, however, on the contrary JBL GO you will definitely use them during trips, vacations, picnics in the park or garden parties.

The square speaker is entirely made of plastic, which is rubberized around the perimeter. Thanks to this, you don't have to worry about minor falls, but on the other hand, expect that every scratch will unfortunately be visible on the speaker's body. The most necessary equipment is also located around the perimeter.

At the top you will find raised buttons for on/off, volume control, connection via Bluetooth and a small pictogram of the handset, used to accept an incoming call. As with most portable speakers, you can make and handle calls through the JBL GO.

On the right side there is an AUX IN input and a microUSB connector for charging the device. On the opposite side there is space for a strap, which unfortunately is not part of the package. On the other hand, you can use any other and have JBL GO with you all the time.

On the bottom, there are four mini protrusions that act as feet, so that the speaker does not lie completely on the ground. The dominant feature is the JBL logo, which the engineers placed in the middle of the metal grille and also on the other side of the product.

The desired sound output comes out of the metal grille, which is more than solid. When I compare it with the flagship from JBL, Xtreme speaker, so the sound is logically worse. However, the JBL GO is definitely not intended to be a competitor for one of the best and at the same time the most expensive speakers in the category, on the contrary, it is positive that the renowned American engineers did not try to dope the little GO unnecessarily. So there is no bass reflex or other performance-enhancing technology in it. It is around 3 W and the built-in battery promises up to five hours of playback.

Like any other speaker, the JBL GO can be easily connected to any device and can also be used to play movies, video clips or play iOS games. JBL GO will also be appreciated by street performers or other creatives who need a small compact device and music always with them. The speaker can sound even a smaller room and has no problem with any musical style.

The JBL GO weighs the same as the iPhone 6 and fits easily in the palm of your hand, so even in any larger pocket. Perfect for takeaway. In addition, JBL's compact speaker offered in eight color variants, so everyone should really choose. I myself really liked the JBL GO, because the reproduction from it is always better than from the iPhone itself, and at the same time it is not difficult to take it with you most of the time. For 890 crowns it's also the most affordable speaker that you don't have to be ashamed to pull out anywhere. Its popularity is also evidenced by the sales figures: JBL managed to sell over 1 million GO speakers in Europe alone in half a year.
