New iPhones 6 a 6 Plus compared to previous generations, they have a definite novelty – larger displays. In addition, there are two different diagonals, so customers have to decide whether the current four-inch iPhone 5/5S will be enough for them, whether they will reach for a slightly larger iPhone 6, or whether only the giant iPhone 6 Plus with a 5,5-inch display will satisfy their needs.
Although we can imagine a lot based on the figures given, the final decision on which of the iPhone models to go for is usually only made when we try them out. You can see the difference in the size of the latest generation of Apple phones and the iPhone 5S in the image above, and if you want to physically touch at least the sizes of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus before they go on sale, Jeremy Anticouni created the following useful PDF (full size download <a href="https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1932/8043/files/200721_ODSTOUPENI_BEZ_UDANI_DUVODU__EN.pdf?v=1595428404" data-gt-href-en="https://en.notsofunnyany.com/">here</a> (original design converted to European A4 format, print at 100% borderless size)) with exact dimensions of the new phones. All you have to do is print them, cut them out and you have something to compare them with.
How many inches will your new iPhone be: 4, 4,7, or 5,5? When making a decision, do not forget to consider the quality of the phone comprehensively. To comparison of parameters of the best phones from the Apple brand not only in the field of display quality, independent Internet tests can help you, for example.
This helped me quite a bit. An acquaintance who is going to buy a 6 is selling a 5Sko, so I will buy it back and wait to see what they come up with next year :-) so I choose a 4"
Do you know what they will come up with next year? of course with the evolution of the 6ky and now the 6S. like every year after the introduction of a new device.
So don't buy iPhones if you keep having problems with them, right?!
I'll tell you what I'll get, it will be the same as the iPhone 6 and 6+, because Apple designs iPhones for 2 years, take the 4 and 4s, 5 and 5s, and so will the ip7, what will change will probably get a faster processor and camera inside...
nice nonsense... I printed it out and when I attached my 5S, the picture is smaller...
Download the full PDF version and remember that US paper sizes are different from European ones. And then push.
Thanks for the heads up, the original PDF was for US paper format. Everything should now be ready for A4.
it's quite imprecise, so you should improve it a bit
This is perhaps a good moment to remember the advertisement from the launch of the iPhone 5, when Apple increased the diagonal from 3.5 to 4 inches. To defend against larger displays from competitors, they took out the advertisement showing how 4 inches is the ideal size for touching anywhere on the display. Well, suddenly after two years the ideal diagonal is different again. Yes, I know that they added the double-tap function on the home button to OS 8, but I am no longer amused by how Apple assumes that customers have a memory of less than 24 months, when in response to criticism of the IPhone 5, it confidently declared that 4 inches is the most ergonomic and larger no need Apple has it in its genes - one day Steve Jobs wrote a poem about the best Power PC processors, and after a while Intel is the best again. Sometimes the size of the display is irrelevant because it is Retina, and every other year suddenly the size is the main argument. I really like Apple and have been using its tablets, mobile phones and laptops since 2007, but it annoys me that the "reality distortion field" policy from the Jobs era, when the news denied what he claimed a year ago, continues at Apple even today.
He's not saying the new sizes are the best. He just added them as an alternative - because he got into the Chinese market, where no one has a phone under 5″. We have three sizes here - still the best 4″, for some 4.7″ and for China 5.5″. Everyone chooses, and advertising with the slogan 4″ are the best continues to apply.
Well, we'll still have the 4″ here for a few more weeks at the most, before they start selling the 6. I have a 64GB five and I'll keep it for a while. I definitely don't mind giving them the money for 4.7″ and if China is their priority now with paddles for the future, then please lose me as a customer with several iPhones already. Although I would cry about it, but
I won't bite the paddle. And I foolishly thought that we have tablets for working with a larger diagonal.
The iPhone 5S and 5C will remain on sale, and in my opinion not only for the next one year until the arrival of the next iPhone.
And are you sure it's not just 16 GB?
Apple has already updated its store page. Ostava 5C with 8GB and also 5S with 16 and 32GB.
maybe it will come back in time, in my opinion 4.7″ is a great size, but it has already fallen and 4″ is on the verge. Maybe it's just hype that will fade with time and make some iPhone 8 Mini, Classic or Minus or what do I know...
It will last them until China releases warm coats for 2017 with small pockets, then it will shrink again. The only thing that makes me sad is that apple stops being for people, but starts being for the US and China...
"because it hit the Chinese market where no one has a phone under 5"
The Chinese are once again compensating for something.
What someone claimed 2 years ago in the tech world is prehistoric !!! Time is moving forward, technology is developing, applications are changing and getting more into our lives. Expecting a tech company to make a statement today and stick to it two years from now, or even more, even as time goes on, is simply the attitude of someone who has fallen asleep. I don't think Apple can be blamed. It still has 3 diagonals on offer and will have it for at least another year, so I don't know what to complain about...
I think we don't quite understand each other. Yes, development is moving forward and I would never blame Apple for coming up with a new connector, a faster processor or a better display. Technology has advanced, so we put a faster processor, a bigger battery and a display with a higher resolution in the new model, and the whole thing is thinner and lighter than a year ago. Crack for users - vot balshaya teknika!
The problem with the diagonal, but I take it differently. At the time of the launch of the iPhone 5, Apple installed a 4-inch display, when some competitors (certainly Samsung) already offered larger displays. If some reviewers timidly pointed out that as a premium device, Apple could have installed something larger (which was already available), they were rebuffed by the management with a reference to the advertisement that 4 inches is ideal, ergonomics and size are not everything. That's certainly a valid argument (I have an iPhone 5 myself and I'm not going to change, the size suits me), but I found it a little "cheep" that yesterday the same executives masturbated over an amazingly large screen that displays so much more. What was not long ago useless and unimportant is suddenly the biggest improvement of the new model. Just grist to the mill for all critics with a memory longer than last year's model, who label fans of these pure marketing noises passed off as "events" as Apple sheep. And I state this as a satisfied user of the Apple ecosystem.
I think that 4" is still the ideal and maximum size for "one-handed operation". Now they have added larger diagonals to the menu, but nowhere have I registered a statement from Apple that 4,7 or 5,5" is ideal for one-handed operation XNUMX″.
This is just what some journalists and fanandroids say so they can have fun.
Personally, I think that in the spring they will make a successor to the 5S and 5C, and the 4″ will continue, because people will continue to want it. In the fall, it will be part of the 6S upgrade.
The "primordial age" does not concern the physiognomy of the human hand. It is not possible to produce different large phones of the same series, probably everyone understands that it is unprofitable, but the 3.5 to 4.0 inch ones are without a doubt the most ergonomic display area.
I hope the 4″ stays in the future.
Does anyone know what the building that Apple built for Keynote was for?
I just zoomed in on Safari to fit the image above physically to my 5S and then I'm looking at the iPhone 6 Plus next door and I think I'll go for it. It looks pretty cool to hold even in one hand... I'll try it physically and then I'll probably buy it in 64GB. I like the big display, maybe 4,7 would be enough for me, but the 6 Plus has significantly longer endurance and, in addition, the optical stabilizer of the camera :-)
agree, I'm the same way ;)
I'm also going to the 6 Plus. I no longer carry an ipad due to a change in work and life. I have big hands and after printing the model and gluing it on cardboard, borrowing a friend's Note II, I've made up my mind. It's good that the app looks different in landscape than it does in the classics. I wanted 64GB this year anyway, so they made it easier for me by skipping 32GB. Anyway, everyone will have to contribute, because even my mother, who has two app pages and no music, can't live with 16 GB.
In my opinion, Apple introduced one iPhone, namely the iPhone 6 with a diagonal of 4,7 …. In my opinion, the iPhone 6+ is more of a hybrid, like a tablet phone, but the most interesting thing about it, in my opinion, is that Apple is preparing to run two applications at the same time, at least that's how it seemed to me...
PS: double clicking on 6+ scrolls the screen, how does multitasking occur?
And otherwise, I see that they buried the iPhone 5C concept
Double-clicking to move the screen is just touching the touch ID, for multitasking it has to be pressed twice (like now). That's how I understood it.
5C was only with 5S, so it may be again when there is 6S, but personally I don't really believe it.
Maybe a little OT, but I just went through all the states of Europe and the Middle East on Apple's website, and everywhere the new phones will be sold from 26.9. there is nothing about ip27.9, it is offered there as a novelty ip 6s. This was not the case in the past years, and I think that this means not only that we are not at all interesting for Apple, but also that, even if we might do it terribly, we simply do not belong in Western or Central Europe and we are just a little stronger eastern europe
True story bro :( I live in London and that's how it is, everyone divides Europe into western and eastern Europe. It doesn't matter if the word central Europe is only used in CZ-SK...
It takes time and effort to explain to those in the West that we are not such idiots anymore! ;)
These are exactly the consequences when foreign countries look at our gluttonous president staggering over the crown jewels on television and say to themselves: "This country will probably wait..."
5C holds up best. It's a shame that Apple will no longer support it.
I don't have a problem with the 5/5S, but I would say that the six will hold up much like the 5C, the increase in size doesn't seem that big to me, but it's too early to judge.
I'm wondering how the multitask overview will be launched if the Reachablity function is now functional on the Home double-click.. Does anyone know?
And about the sizes: I have a 5S with a 4″ display and I am satisfied. I won't change, because I don't see why I should. The paddles didn't convince me ;)
Reachability is started with a light double tap on the home button. Multitask with a double tap.
So I read it here. I've been using Apple for a few years now, switching from Win, my first Iphone was a 3GS. Now I have an Ipad mini, an Ipad Air, a Macbook Pro retina, IP5 and I am satisfied as a whole. I don't classify the products as good or bad, I understand it as a whole, in my opinion the most important and important thing is not the HW, the most important thing is the SW. Yes, even OS X and iOS are not error-free, but try Win and Android again after a while, it's crazy. Totally unusable. Until I got to know Apple, I thought that having to reinstall Win every six months was a completely normal thing.
So, to sum it up, I'm also not sure about the 6 or 6+, I'm also not really excited about the design, but I'm 100% convinced that once I get my hands on the product, everything will be different. I trust Apple, and that's how I approach it, there is a mistake here and there, but that can be forgiven, it can't be done 100%.
As for the guys' approach, it's Bussines, it's just working with people, they have it easy, on the contrary, I like their orthodox uncompromising approach, mainly they just know how to do it, if they made a piece of shit with the apple logo they'd sell it because they'd say it's the best shit in the world and they will become the front Apple is a cult, it has a huge weight Samsung is just a nick against them, when they say buy the S5, people don't buy it, when apple says you have to have IP6 because it's the best and most advanced phone in the world, buy it will buy :).
I mostly agree. We simply don't do anything with the design and other elements, and if we don't like it, we have no choice but to keep the old device with "worse" functionality, because in the future the design will simply change all the time.
But what Apple bugs me about with phones (only with them), and our economy also contributes a lot to this, is the price. A PHONE with 16 GB of memory for 18 liters is simply a lot (I'm talking about today, because five years ago having a touchscreen with mp3 player, camera, video and other crap for 20 was adequate). It costs 000 abroad and that is a decent price.
And may I ask where in your opinion it is cheaper abroad? On the contrary, it seems to me that compared to Germany or England, we now have relatively cheap Apple products. (official apple shop) :-)
Compared to Germany or England, we have it the same. I'm talking about America, of course. I'm speaking more generally - "There" the phone is 13 and by the time it gets to us it costs 20. But that's how it is with everything, not just Apple
It's simple, no taxes are paid on electronics and the koruna has a crazy exchange rate against the dollar ;-).
So I also printed and cut out new paper "sixes" and I have to say that the plus is really too much. Not only will there be a problem with control, but also with wearing it. After all, it doesn't even fit in classic mobile phone pockets. A month and a half ago, I bought a Thule backpack from Apple, which also has an iPhone pocket, like many others, but the six-pack can still fit there, but not the plus-pack. It's the same with other bags. I really don't need such a phone. If I want a bigger screen for something, I have an iPad, but I'd like to keep my phone as pocket-sized as possible. The sixth is already on the verge, but I'll go for it, I just can't do it. It's sure to be a beautiful piece of hardware.
I'm surprised they put the power button opposite the volume buttons. That bothered me with Samsung, I pressed the volume when the display turned off. Nj
well..it really fell off, I don't need it..it's a shame...hopefully they'll find some sense next time...I wonder how you all will carry those phones..?? I was satisfied ..with 4..4s..5 ..5s but 6 ..probably I just don't have to...I'll wait..otherwise maybe phones like 5s will be on offer...otherwise I don't know..for a normal user...just 6 ..4,7 ..impractical and more of an annoyance..impression..I will see how it will sit in my hand..but I still don't know where I would wear it..probably on my neck..perhaps...? it probably won't fit much in your pocket..not much in your jeans either..?? that..? or always carry it only in the hand?? well..?
