There are only a few hours left until the start of Apple's first Keynote of the year, and the closer we are to 19:XNUMX, the more various leaks are appearing informing about upcoming products and their equipment. Here you will find a summary of the latest news that we could really look forward to tonight.

iPad Air 5th generation with M1 chip

The fact that we will see the 5th generation iPad Air is more or less a certainty. So far, however, it was expected that it will be equipped with the same chip used by the iPhone 13, i.e. the A15 Bionic chip. According to the magazine 9to5Mac however, here Apple will defeat the same strategy that it established last year with the iPad Pro. The novelty should therefore be fitted with an M1 chip.

In terms of performance, the M1 chip is about 50% faster than the A15 Bionic and 70% faster than the A14 Bionic (which is the one in the 4th generation iPad Air). While the A15 Bionic has a 6-core CPU and a 5-core GPU, the M1 chip comes with an 8-core CPU and a 7-core GPU and has 8GB of RAM in its lowest configuration. But since Apple wants to sell both the iPad Pro and the iPad Air as a computer replacement, this move makes sense.

iPhone SE 3nd generation

Here are two possible versions that Apple is reaching for. The first is that the device will be based on the same design as the iPhone SE 2nd generation, only with an A15 Bionic chip and 5G. The second is that Apple would take the iPhone XR and once again fit it with the current chip present in the iPhone 13 series and, of course, throw in 5G (the iPhone 11 Apple still sells at a price of CZK 14 in the 490GB version). It is possible that they will try to improve the main camera as well. The price should remain the same, in our case 64 CZK for the 11 GB version. In addition, Apple could continue to sell the current generation at a reduced price.

iPhone 13 in green

But the iPhone SE may not be the only phone that Apple will present to us today. Last year at its spring event we saw a purple iPhone 12 (mini), now it should be a green color for the iPhone 13 (mini), which will be noticeably darker than the one present in the previous generation. At least the youtuber says so Luke miani. But nothing but the color will change on the phone.

Mac Studio and an external display

However, Luke Miani also mentions the fact that we should also see a new desktop computer named Mac Studio. It should be a device based on the design of the Mac mini, with the only difference being that it will be at least once as tall. The chip should be the M1 Max optionally with an even more powerful and yet to be presented variant. The display is based on the Pro Display XDR design in combination with the 24" iMac. Its diagonal should be 27 inches.

13" MacBook Pro with M2 chip

Apple is set to take its entry-level professional laptop to a new level by primarily giving it a new M2 chip, which is likely to get the most attention at the event. However, it will not be more powerful than the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips introduced in the fall, which are designed for 14 and 16" MacBook Pros. At the same time, the novelty should lose the Touch Bar and instead have functional keys, but the design should not change.

M2 Mac mini

The Mac mini is the gateway to the world of macOS because it's the company's cheapest computer. But it is still powerful enough to keep up with the rest of the portfolio, as it also has an M1 chip. Apple could improve it by logically giving it an M2 chip. With this move, it could also cut the version with Intel processors.

A larger iMac

Last spring, we got a 24" iMac with an M1 chip. If you then look at the iMac portfolio, you will still find a larger variant with Intel processors. So Apple could remove this model from the lineup and replace it with the design of last year's iMac, only with an improved chip, which could probably be labeled M2. The diagonal itself can be 27 or even 32 inches.
