Samsung has completely dominated the flexible smartphone market, while other tech giants have literally missed the train. But theoretically, it's still not too late. In addition, as various clues and leaks suggest, others are also working on their own models that can bring the necessary diversity to this market and shake it up even more. That is why relatively high expectations are placed on Apple. In addition, he has already registered several patents related to flexible phones, according to which it is evident that he is at least thinking about this concept.

Apparently, however, Apple is a long way off. After all, Ming-Chi Kuo, one of the most respected and accurate analysts focusing on Apple, also spoke about this, according to which Apple had already tested a number of different prototypes and was preparing to finish the entire project. According to various forecasts, the flexible iPhone was supposed to arrive in 2023 at the earliest, but the date was subsequently pushed back to 2025. So far, it looks like the giant is still a long way from the introduction of this smartphone. So let's take a look at what we would like to see in a flexible iPhone and what Apple should definitely not forget.

Display and hardware

The Achilles heel of flexible phones is their display. It still faces a lot of criticism from the public, because in terms of durability, it simply does not reach the qualities we are used to from classic phones. The aforementioned Samsung, which has already introduced the fourth generation of Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip phones, is constantly working on this shortcoming and has been able to move a long way forward since the initial versions. This is exactly why it is appropriate for Apple to have this factor figured out in detail. On the other hand, it is necessary to realize that the Cupertino giant buys displays for its iPhones from Samsung. To ensure maximum resistance, cooperation with the Corning company, which is recognized worldwide for its durable Gorilla Glass, will be important for the change. By the way, Apple also collaborated with this company on the development of its own Ceramic Shield.

For these reasons, the greatest expectations are placed precisely on the display and its quality. It is therefore a question of how the first flexible iPhone will actually fare and whether Apple will be able to pleasantly surprise us. On the contrary, Apple users are not worried about hardware equipment. The Cupertino giant is known for using high-quality components and for developing its own chips that give the entire device lightning-fast performance.

Software equipment

Big question marks hang over the software equipment, or rather over the form of the operating system. It is a question of what form the resulting iPhone will have and how Apple will approach this issue. Apple users are therefore debating whether the giant will reach for the traditional iOS system, which is primarily intended for Apple iPhones, or whether it will adapt it and bring it closer to the iPadOS system. Unfortunately, the answer to this question will have to wait until the possible performance.

Price

Looking at the price of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, there is also the question of how much the flexible iPhone will actually cost. This model starts at less than 45 thousand crowns, which makes it one of the most expensive phones ever. But as we mentioned above, according to the predictions of an analyst named Ming-Chi Kuo, the flexible iPhone will not arrive before 2025. In theory, Apple still has a lot of time to iron out all the problems and solve the price issue.
