Apple AirPods wireless headphones have been with us for almost five years. Since then, we've seen the release of the second generation, a better Pro model, and headphones labeled Max. However, the issue of AirPods has been relatively quiet for a long time. In any case, that silence could be broken right next week, when the second autumn Apple Event takes place. During that time, the Cupertino giant will most likely introduce the long-awaited 14″ and 16″ MacBook Pro, alongside which the 3rd generation AirPods could also apply. But what is the future of apple headphones in general?

AirPods 3 with a more sympathetic design

As for the mentioned 3rd generation AirPods, by the way, they have been talked about since the beginning of this year. Back in the spring, a number of leakers agreed that they would be revealed during the spring Apple Event, when Apple unveiled, for example, a 24″ iMac with an M1 chip. Even before the keynote itself, however, a leading analyst indirectly intervened in the discussion Ming-Chi Kuo. Therefore, although most sources reported on an early introduction, news from such a respected source simply could not be ignored. He already informed in March that the mass production of new headphones will only start in the third quarter of this year (July - September).

Here's what the 3rd generation AirPods could look like:

After this fiasco of multiple leakers, no one commented on AirPods so much anymore, and the whole community was just waiting to see if they would show up to the world. Another favorite for the presentation was therefore the September Event associated with the new iPhones 13. However, it was not D-day for Apple headphones either, according to which it can be concluded that they will be revealed already on Monday, October 18. But an interesting question arises. What changes could the third generation theoretically bring? We don't have much information in this direction either. In any case, the Apple community agrees that Apple is going to slightly modify the design, which should be based on the aforementioned AirPods Pro model. Specifically, the feet of the individual headphones will be reduced and the charging case will also receive a slight change. Unfortunately, this is where it ends. We should rather not expect news in the form of active suppression of ambient noise.

The future of AirPods Pro

In any case, it could be slightly more interesting in the case of AirPods Pro. In the current situation, it looks like Apple is going to focus as much as possible on the health segment, to which it wants to adapt the functions offered in its professional headphones. For a long time, there has been talk about the implementation of health sensors for measuring body temperature and correct posture, or they could also function as a hearing aid for people with impaired hearing. To ensure the best possible results in the case of temperature measurement, the AirPods Pro could work closely with the Apple Watch (probably already Series 8), which would also have the same sensor, thanks to which the data could be processed much better, since it would come from two sources.

AirPods Pro

However, whether we will soon see the implementation of similar functions is unclear for now. Even so, the most talked about is the introduction of the second generation of AirPods Pro next year, and apparently this series should offer certain options in the field of health. Nevertheless, these are still mere speculations and must be taken with a grain of salt. Anonymous sources, who are well acquainted with the plans for the future of AirPods, commented on the whole situation, according to which Apple headphones with health sensors might not be presented at all.
