Have you ever played your favorite music album or video on iTunes or iPod and found that it doesn't play the way you want it to, even with the volume set to maximum? If so, we have a simple guide for you on how to increase the volume very easily (or if you would like to decrease it).
We will need:
- iTunes software,
- Added music or videos in iTunes library.
Approach:
1. iTunes
- Open iTunes.
2. Import files
- If you don't have any songs/videos in iTunes by now, please add them.
- You can add them very simply, just click on the "Music" menu in iTunes, which is located in the menu on the left. And then drag the folder of your music album.
- It is just as easy with video, the only difference is that you will drag the video files to the "Movies" menu.
- Importing can also be done using File/Add to library in the iTunes panel (Command+O on a Mac).
3. Selecting a file
- After you have the music/video in iTunes. Select the file you want to increase (decrease) the volume.
- Highlight the file and right-click on it and select “Get info” (Command+i on Mac).
4. “Options” tab
- After the “Get info” menu appears, select the “Options” tab.
- Next, the “Volume Adjustment” option is displayed, where the default setting is “None”.
- To increase the volume, move the slider to the right, to decrease the volume, move it to the left.
5. Done
- The last step is confirmation with the "OK" button and it's done.
The tutorial was shown on adjusting the volume of the songs and it works exactly the same with the video. In addition, if you adjust the volume of a file and then use iTunes to copy it to your iPhone, iPod or iPad, this adjustment will be reflected here as well.
So, if you think that some albums don't sound enough on your iPod, you can use this guide and adjust the volume yourself.
A whole different problem, everything is fine in iTunes, everything is fine through the iPhone repair, everything is terribly quiet through the headphones :( I even read somewhere that it is because of the EU and their "protection" of the ear canal of their citizens, but I did not find how to get rid of it :/
The only thing that was slightly improved was the winterboard and the Boost 3x or whatever the plugin is called ;( but I don't know how to get out of it ;(
Anyway, great guide, thanks :)
Petr Šourek: Don't you have Volume Limit set in Settings - iPod? I have the feeling that everything plays the same for me both in the speaker and in the headphones (I have the volume limit turned off)
I have it off, I tried different equalizers but everything is off ;(
Has it been doing this to you since the beginning? Try to clean the jack connector, for example with a toothpick ;-) it helped me
alas :( so there is no problem with music, it is relatively audible, but with the spoken word it is :( but it also affects, for example, when I call through headphones like hands-free.
I'll try to clean the connector, thanks.
I have the exact same problem; software sound amplification did not help me, the headphones still play quietly. Isn't it caused by poor quality Apple headphones?
mine on my MBP and itunes play just fine, just like speakers... sometimes I press them down so as not to draw attention to the spoken language around me, just like that when I connected them to a Windows machine at work, it's fine too
That's right, try other headphones, apple batteries are bad for this, I replaced them with better ones and the volume is immediately much higher...
Great thanks... finally I can play the songs in the boxes really loud :-)
