Nowadays, we can hardly find a single place on the Internet that does not collect information and data about us. The main drivers, that is, as far as data collection is concerned, are of course social networks, such as Facebook or Instagram. A few months ago, Mark Zuckerberg's network introduced an option that allows you to easily download all the information it stores about you. Thanks to a few clicks, you can download all your photos (including deleted ones), messages, videos and countless other information. In addition, you don't even have to rummage through unsorted files, because Facebook sorts everything for your convenience, so you can easily navigate through all your data.

Instagram launched exactly the same function a few days ago. In the settings, you can now simply download all the data and information that Instagram stores about you on its servers with a few clicks. Naturally, this is of course photos and videos, but we must not forget about messages (so-called Direct Messages - DM), as well as Stories and other data, again including deleted ones.

How to download data from Instagram

  • Let's go to the page instagram.com/download/request
  • We will apply se to the account from which we want to download data
  • On the screen that appears, just type mail, to which a link to download all data will be sent after some time
  • Then we click on Další
  • Now just enter account password
  • We press the button Request a download
  • Now all you have to do is wait a maximum of 48 hours until you receive an email with a link to download the files (in my case it took about 2 hours)

If you have had Instagram for a long time and have been working with it, you can certainly look forward to the resulting file, which will be in the order of gigabytes. After downloading the file, you will definitely have a few minutes of fun - you will most likely look at your first, long-forgotten photos or several years old messages.
