Some users are definitely missing Mass Storage support on their iPhone. The DigiDNA company also thought about this and decided to create a very pleasant program for us DiskAid. Just install DiskAid on our computer and then connect the iPhone with a cable. The program immediately recognizes the iPhone and so do you you will be able to transfer data from computer to computer, for example using an iPhone.
DiskAid can be installed on both MacOS and Windows. It supports iPhone, iPhone 3G and iPod Touch from firmware 1.1.1 to the current 2.1. No jailbreak required and copying is very simple, e.g. using drag&drop. Unfortunately, the files cannot be opened on the iPhone, so they can only be used to transfer from one computer to another. Because it is completely free to download as freeware, I definitely recommend it to you!
You forgot that this thing is running through the cable. I use Fugu (Mac), it connects via WiFi using SSH. It's better than DiskAid (I have it on my PC), but it's useless without a jailbreak etc.
@_oli: Thanks for the addition! I somehow lost it there. If someone has a jailbroken iPhone, there are more solutions, but there was still no solution for us without a jailbreak :)
Hmm, it's a really handy program and it's free. I would have missed something like this before, but... now I use things for what they are intended for, i.e. I only have a flash drive for transferring or storing files (because it's really small, I keep it between the coins in my wallet and therefore everywhere with me) .
So I would highly recommend the USB Drive ;) completely functional without anything. (like TECKA)
