Pages is undoubtedly one of the best text editors for iOS if you're looking for an alternative to Word and a simple plaintext or Markdown editor just isn't enough. Although the app includes a number of features, there are some limitations. For example, Pages can't create landscape documents for some mysterious reason. Fortunately, this shortcoming can be worked around, and we'll show you how.
- First, create a landscape document in PAGES or DOC/DOCX format. You can use Pages for Mac, Microsoft Word or Google Docs for this. Alternatively, you can download it <a href="https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1932/8043/files/200721_ODSTOUPENI_BEZ_UDANI_DUVODU__EN.pdf?v=1595428404" data-gt-href-en="https://en.notsofunnyany.com/">here</a>.
- Upload the document to Pages on your iOS device. There are several ways. You can email a document to yourself and open it in Pages, use iTunes file transfer or sync via iCloud.com.
- You will now have a landscape document in Pages. However, do not modify it in any way, it will continue to serve as a template. Whenever you want to start writing a new landscape document, duplicate the uploaded document (by holding your finger on it and then tapping the icon on the left in the top bar).
While this isn't an ideal solution, and we hope that Apple will eventually add the ability to create landscape documents, it's the only option for now.
Thanks a lot, I didn't think of that and it will definitely come in handy
It's just sad that this "banality" has been missing since the full release of Pages for iOS, and Apple bravely ignores it.
I recommend this way to solve other things that Pages for iOS can't do, e.g. fixed spaces after short prepositions. Then just copy such a gap and paste it wherever you need it in your document. It is sometimes impossible to make a serious documentary without them, which is a shame. Similarly, it is possible to have a document template with the desired first line bounce, which cannot be set in Pages for iOS – if your company documents are to have a 1,25 bounce, you cannot set this in Pages on iOS, but it works without problems in an already created template.
I wonder how many party documents can be written in it? 100 pages incl. tables and charts? Isn't there a poll?
Due to the limited possibilities of the application, you will stop having fun writing something more serious in it with more pages, so it's hard to say. It's better to use a computer for now.
Similarly, I also create A3 or A5 documents.
