The method of connecting AirPods with Apple devices could be called magical. In principle, however, these are still Bluetooth headphones, they only differ by way of pairing with individual types furnishedyes pthanks to the Bluetooth connection, you can also connect AirPods with other devices, including Android smartphones. And even here, thanks to a few tricks, you can significantly improve your AirPods+Android experience.

Apple Music

AirPods aren't the only Apple product that can run on Android. For several years now, the Apple Music application has been officially available here, replacing the previous Beats Music service. You don't even need to own any Apple devices to use the service here, you just need an Apple ID account that you can create here.

The application is completely full-featured and does not lack any functions. It offers comprehensive search, library access, Beats 1 radio and comprehensive settings. You can choose the colorý theme, sound quality when listening via mobile data, size cache and exclusive feature: the ability to download music for offline listening to a microSD card. The service is therefore full-fledged and uses even those things that are not availableé on iPhone.

Trigger Assistant

When you first connect AirPods to Android, you can only use them with very limited functions. Forget ear detection or the ability to activate the voice assistant. Gestures simply don't work and you can't even see the battery status. Thanks to the app Trigger Assistant but you can most of these functions also run on Android. This app now supports four Apple headphones including the first two generations of AirPods, AirPods Pro and Powerbeats Pro.

In the app, you can set how the headphones should respond to gestures and whether to support the phone's assistant (eg Bixby Voice) after one or two taps. There is also an option to set the accessory to turn on automatically after opening the headphone case. When you do so, you will see a window on your screen almost identical to the one you know from iOS. You can see the charge status of all parts that are currently connectedy to the device. You can also continuously check the battery status in the notification center.

Last but not least, there is the option of activating ear detection, thanks to whichž the music will pause automatically when the earphone is removed from the ear. Developer application warns of higher energy consumption, on the Galaxy S10+ you arem however, he did not notice significant differences. Also new is the Announcer, a new paid feature that reads you notifications, the phone number or the name of an incoming call. You can also set if you want notification after reading it keep or block function when mobile you are currently using.

For the disadvantagebut in the application I assume the fact that a significant part of the functions is charged. Premium membership you pack gets rid of ads and unlocks the ability to display battery status in the notification center, ear detection and the ability to set gestures. This membership costs 1,99 €. The Announcer function then costs another 2,19 €.

"It's Just a Routine"

For the iPhone it is Siri Shortcuts, for Samsung it is the Bixby Routines function. The digital assistant monitors how you use your phone and adapts its functions accordingly – for example, it turns off the fingerprint sensor at home, activates dark mode in the evening, or loads the applications you use most often in the environment in the background. And then you can create your own routines and name them. This is how I created a routine called AirPods, which is activated every time AirPods are connected to the phone.

Subsequently, playback via Apple Music starts automatically, the volume is automatically set to 70 % and on the lock screen it customizes quick links to my two most used apps: Apple Music and Facebook. When the feature is turned on or off, the phone will also vibrate and display information on the lock screen.
