How to clean AirPods so they play like before

Apple headphones are especially popular among apple lovers, which is primarily due to their excellent connection with the apple ecosystem. Apple AirPods not only offer quality sound for listening to music or podcasts, but above all they understand other Apple products and can quickly switch between them. However, as is usual with headphones, they can get dirty over time and even lose their functionality. Rules for all models

Remember that headphones are not allowed never soak in water. Instead, rely only on a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. In some cases, however, it is possible to slightly moisten the cloth. But be careful not to get liquid into any of the openings. Likewise, it is not appropriate to use any sharp objects or abrasive materials for cleaning. Although this may seem like a good idea to some, you should never attempt anything like this. This is because there is a risk of irreversible damage to the headphones and thus the loss of the warranty.

How to clean AirPods and AirPods Pro

Let's start with the most popular ones, i.e. AirPods and AirPods Pro. If you have stains on the headphones themselves, just wipe them with the aforementioned cloth, preferably moistened with clean water. However, it is necessary to wipe them afterwards with a dry cloth (which does not release fibers) and let them dry completely before putting them back into the charging case. Just use a dry cotton swab to clean the microphone grill and speakers.

Cleaning the charging case

Cleaning the charging case from AirPods and AirPods Pro is very similar. Again, you should rely on a dry soft cloth, but you can if you need one moisten lightly 70% isopropyl alcohol or 75% ethanol. Subsequently, it is again extremely important to let the case dry, and at the same time, it also applies here that no liquid can get into the charging connectors. As for the Lightning connector, you can use a (clean and dry) brush with fine bristles. But never insert anything into the port, as there is a risk of damaging it.

How to clean AirPods Pro tips

You can easily remove the plugs from the AirPods Pro and rinse them under running water. But remember that you must not use soap or other cleaning agents - just rely on clean water. It is extremely important to let them dry thoroughly before putting them back on. You can speed up this process by using a dry cloth. Whichever option you choose, you should never underestimate this point.

How to clean AirPods Max

Finally, let's shine a light on the AirPods Max headphones. Again, cleaning these Apple headphones is quite similar, so you should prepare a soft, dry, lint-free cloth that you can easily get by with. If you need to clean the stains, just moisten the cloth, clean the headphones and then dry them. Again, the key is not to use them until they are really dry. Likewise, avoid direct contact with water (or other liquid). As already mentioned, it must not get into any of the holes.

Cleaning the earrings

You really shouldn't underestimate cleaning the earcups and the bridge of the head. On the contrary, the whole process requires more time and maximum concentration. First of all, you have to mix the cleaning mixture yourself, which consists of 5 ml of liquid washing powder and 250 ml of clean water. Soak the aforementioned cloth in this mixture, then wring it out slightly and very carefully use it to clean both ear cups and the head bridge - according to the official information, you should clean each part for one minute. At the same time, clean the head bridge upside down. This will ensure that no liquid flows into the joints themselves.

Afterwards, of course, it is necessary to wash the solution. Therefore, you will need another cloth, this time moistened with clean water, to wipe all parts, followed by a final drying with a dry cloth. However, the whole process does not end there, and you will have to wait a while for your AirPods. Apple directly recommends that after this step you place the earbuds on a flat surface and let them dry for at least 24 hours.
