Apple in late January announced the exchange program plug adapters, as it has found that in rare cases the adapters supplied with Macs and iOS devices can crack and cause electric shock. We investigated the easiest way to get an adapter replaced in the Czech Republic.
To begin with, you need to find out if you really have the problem adapter. You can tell by the fact that when you slide it out of the charger, you will find four or five characters printed in the inner groove, or no characters at all. If you find the EUR mark in the groove, you already have a newly designed adapter and there is no need to replace it.
Apple on its website states, that the adapter must be taken to an authorized Apple service provider, which fortunately in the case of the Czech Republic is not limited to only services, but most APR sellers will also replace it for you.
You can exchange the adapter without any problems at Qstore, iStyle, iWant stores, as well as at iOpravna, ITS Servis and Český servis service centers. You will only fail with iSetos, which, according to its statement, does not carry out exchanges.
Apple advises that you also bring the serial number of the product to which it belongs (Mac, iPhone, iPad, etc.) along with the problem adapter, however, at least in the first phase of exchanges, you will not even need it at some sellers and services. But we recommend taking it with you (or the invoice where you can find the serial number) just to be sure.
In addition to the serial number, you only need to take the adapter (removable part with pins) with you, which will be immediately exchanged for a new one in the mentioned branches. You can leave the charger at home, it is not covered by the exchange program.
and what about the extension cord I got for the mac? the one that plugs in instead of this adapter and thus extends the charger…..
She should be fine.
Great, the ideal information for me is that I can go to iWant, I bought a MAC there and it's the closest :-).
"You can leave the charger at home, it is not covered by the exchange program." This is somewhat misleading information - doesn't the exchange concern the charger, or the adapter? :-)
It refers to the socket adapter, which is in the photo in the article.
Thank you for the explanation, the label is a bit misleading, because the mains adapter = a transformer/source for something (it is based on a change in electrical voltage). But the fact is that the adapter is also a designation for various "extensions", which allow the device to be connected to other types of UK/SAE/USA sockets as well (change in mechanical properties). I don't know how to name this particular part unambiguously...
That's why it's a "plug adapter" :)
I would call it reduction
No.
Heh, the week before last I was told in iWant in KV that they would sell them at the beginning of last week... then at the end of last week... And now they say maybe until the end of this week... It's like waiting for Jesus :D
So Qstore no, they sent me to ITS.
