The Apple TV+ streaming service officially went live last week, but its reception has been rather tepid in many places. The report by Parrot Analytics shows that the audience's interest in this service is not very high, according to which the interest in premium content from Apple is significantly lower than in the best shows on Netflix - at least at the moment. However, these data can be distorted by a number of factors.

For now, it's probably too early to pass judgment on the potential success or failure of the Apple TV+ service. The offer of a free annual subscription to users who buy any of Apple's new products after September 10th is estimated to apply to around 1 million users as of November 50st, and this number could theoretically increase in the run-up to Christmas. For others, Apple offers the opportunity to try a week-long free period, but many people postpone its activation until the time when the library of titles has grown a little more.

Time is a particularly important factor in judging the success of streaming services. A number of potential subscribers take a long time to decide and do not activate the service immediately on the day of its official launch, others are waiting for various advantageous offers in the form of packages, others are waiting for the content of the service to expand, or for more reviews and feedback to appear.

The mentioned report from Parrot Analytics reports that of all the shows that Apple TV+ offered at the time of its launch, only the series See managed to make it into the twenty most requested shows as of November 2nd. The titles For All Mankind, Dickinson and Morning Show saw significantly lower interest.

The viewership of the latter series matches the interest in the initial series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance on Netflix. However, two days after the premiere, shows from Apple recorded a thirty percent increase. Apple has yet to release specific numbers related to  TV+.

However, another interesting piece of news has appeared in connection with Apple TV+. According to the agency Reuters Apple is currently in talks with Showtime about a possible deal in which the service could become part of a bargain package.

North American viewers can also find Showtime in the Apple TV channel lineup, and it's possible that Apple could start offering Showtime and  TV+ subscriptions at a discounted price — or come with a multi-service bundle. According to some (yet unconfirmed) reports, similar negotiations are also taking place in connection with Apple Music and music publishers.
