If you write e-mails, you may have noticed that when you enter the first few letters in the recipient field, the system suggests addresses that you do not have in your contacts at all, but you have used them at some point. iOS saves all the email addresses you've sent messages to in the past.
This is a very useful function, especially if you do not want to save some addresses and at the same time save yourself from entering them in the recipient field. However, iOS also remembers those addresses that you entered incorrectly, in addition, how many times you simply do not want to see the given email address. Since they are not in the directory, you can't just delete them, luckily there is a way.
- Open the Mail app and write a new email.
- In the recipient field, write the first few letters of the contact you want to delete. If you do not know the exact address, you can try to write one letter.
- In the list of whispered addresses you will see a blue arrow next to each name, click on it.
- In the following menu, press the Remove from Recents button. If, on the other hand, you want to save the addressee or assign the address to an existing contact, the menu will also serve this purpose.
- Done. In this way, you can remove individuals from the list of whispered addresses.
Thanks for the tip. Still don't know how to prevent the constant rewriting of a contact's name by Facebook? For example, my "mom" contact changes to her name every week. And since the sister's name is the same, it is impossible to tell when texting and calling.
I preferred to turn off the synchronization of contacts with Facebook... it didn't do any good...
after merging contacts, one can choose which one is primary.
And can you advise how? Although I have the contact from iCloud as the first in the list (FB is always second), it changes my name to the one from FB.
Cancel FB!
Everything is OK, but I don't have the blue arrow there. What with this?
So I don't have a blue arrow there...
In that case, these are not addresses that are not in contacts. It must be an address that you have typed manually and sent an email to in the past, but did not save it to your contacts.
And the same tip for OS X?
It is enough to select such an offered contact as a recipient, and then a small white arrow will appear on the right side of the blue oval mark (after hovering the mouse) and after clicking a menu will appear where you can perform these same actions. save the address as a contact, but also remove it from the list of recent recipients.
I also want the same on the x axis, does anyone know how to do this? When typing a name or an email, the first thing that pops up is contacts that I don't have saved. I don't use flusbrok or similar.
