Extreme summer temperatures are not pleasant for anyone. Warmth is fine, but as they say, nothing should be overdone. Even your electrical device, in our case the iPhone, can suffer from the heat. Overheating of your device may not cause anything at all, practically it may just start to freeze or become unresponsive. In the worst case, the iPhone may freeze as the system tries to cool down the device by terminating all processes. If you do not intervene even after that, the battery may be irreversibly damaged. Let's look at five basic tips on how you should take care of your iPhone in high temperatures.

Do not subject iPhone to unnecessary stress

If the temperature rises to extreme values, you can help the iPhone the most by not overloading it unnecessarily. Just like you, the iPhone works better in the cold than in the sun. But that doesn't mean you should stop using your iPhone altogether. The iPhone is certainly capable of texting, chatting or calling, but try to limit the running of performance-intensive applications such as games and others on the iPhone.

Do not leave the iPhone lying in a sunny place

Before you go somewhere, make sure that your iPhone is not placed in direct sunlight. Although it may not seem like it, the iPhone can really overheat in a few minutes. I know this from a recent experience when I was sunbathing in the garden for a few minutes and left my iPhone lying next to the blanket. After a few minutes I realized this fact and wanted to move the phone to a cool place. However, when I touched the iPhone, I didn't hold it for very long. I felt like I put my fingers on fire. You should also not charge your iPhone in direct sunlight. This is because additional heat is produced during charging, which can overheat the iPhone even faster.

Watch out for the fire in the car

You should also not leave your apple lover in the car. Even though you might think you'll just shop at the store and come right back, you should still take your iPhone with you. A 50-degree heat is created in the car in just a few moments, which certainly won't help the iPhone either. You should also avoid using an iPhone as a navigation device mounted on the windshield in the car. It may not seem like it, but even if you have the air conditioning on and a pleasant temperature in your car, the temperature still remains high in the area of the front window. The windshield lets in the sun's rays, which fall directly on the dashboard or directly on your iPhone holder.

Turn off some features and services in settings

You can also make your iPhone easier by manually turning off some features in the settings. These are, for example, Bluetooth, location services, or you can turn on the airplane function, which will take care of deactivating some of the chips inside your phone that also produce heat. You can disable Bluetooth either in Control Center or in Settings -> Bluetooth. You can then deactivate location services in Settings -> Privacy -> Location services. And if you would like to make your iPhone as light as possible, you can activate the already mentioned airplane function. Just open the control center.

Remove the cover or other packaging

The easiest way to help your iPhone in high temperatures is to remove the cover. Men usually don't deal with covers at all, or they only have some thin silicone ones. However, ladies and gentlemen often have bushy and thick covers on their pets, which only help the overheating of the iPhone. I totally understand that women might be worried about scratching their device, but I think it will definitely hold up for a few days. So if you have a cover, don't forget to take it off in extreme temperatures.
