When working on a Mac, among other things, we can't do without right-clicking the mouse, or clicking while simultaneously pressing the Ctrl key. In this way, a so-called context menu is always displayed for individual items, in which we can choose from a menu of other actions. In today's article, we will take a look at how to modify and customize this context menu in the macOS operating system.

Most of the context menu items appear depending on what was clicked and what application you are using. However, you can customize some parts of the context menu to suit your needs. Unfortunately, most context menu content isn't fully customizable, meaning you can't completely decide what exact items it will or won't contain.

Sharing

But there are a handful of items that you can find in the context menu the macOS operating system you can customize. One of these items is the Sharing tab. To customize sharing options from the context menu on a Mac, first right-click on the selected item, point to the Share tab, and click More in the menu that appears. You will be presented with a window where you can check which items you will see in the sharing menu.

Quick actions

When working on a Mac, you've probably also noticed the Quick Actions item in the context menu. Depending on the type of file or folder, Quick Actions allow you to edit content, or convert files, and much more. Among other things, you can include tasks that you are in Quick Actions created in Automator, or maybe Siri Shortcuts. To add a shortcut to the quick actions menu, launch the Shortcuts app and click on the selected shortcut. In the upper right corner of the window, click the sliders icon, then check Use as quick action and Finder. To edit quick actions for individual items in the Finder, always right-click on the selected file and select Quick Actions -> Custom. In the window that appears, check the selected items.
