With the new OS X Mountain Lion, the integration of social networks appeared, led by Facebook. You can share across the system, sync contacts, etc. What isn't synced, however, are events. So if you want to keep track of your friends' birthdays and Facebook events in the OS X Calendar app, read on.
In addition to an active Facebook connection and account, you'll also need the Calendar app that's installed on every OS X and a web browser. On iOS devices, adding Facebook calendars can be done by synchronizing the account with the calendar.
[do action="tip"]This procedure can also be done on other OS with Microsoft Outlook or Google Calendar. However, the steps after exporting events may vary.[/do]
And how to do that? Log in to your Facebook account in your browser. On the left side under your name, find and click Events (if it's not there, type it in the Facebook search box). In the displayed events, click the settings icon in the upper right corner and select Export (see picture).
When clicked, an options dialog will appear. You can add either your friends' birthdays or events to your calendar. If you want to add both options, each must be done separately.
So now select one option and the browser will display a window asking you to open the Calendar. Confirm and the protocol will open the Calendar application with the URL of the selected Facebook calendar ready. Now just confirm and you're done.
Each Facebook calendar imported into the OS X Calendar app creates its own "calendar". If you would like to have events from a social network and birthdays of friends recorded in one calendar, you must first import them separately and then combine them in OS X, by exporting one calendar again and then inserting it into an already existing one. After these actions, which may sound complicated, but will take you a few minutes at most, you will always have your Facebook events at hand, synchronized between all devices, for example using iCloud.

it worked for me without me solving anything..
Did it happen automatically for me too, or am I missing something?
Also like you. Everything paired automatically. The author of the article states that this is not possible on iOS, but even on iOS6 the calendars were connected. The error will probably be somewhere between the keyboard and the chair of the author of the article.
And it is not paired by chance due to the fact that the calendar is synchronized between iOS and OSX (iCloud) ... the author states in the article that this cannot be done via iOS. If I understand the sentence correctly.
On iOS 6 it was done only after connecting to the laptop, but not on mac os x, for some mysterious reason apple didn't do it there...
Hello,
please advise how to easily remove birthdays from the iPhone5 calendar, which were automatically uploaded there after connecting to fb. I have a lot of people on fb and now there is a dot in the calendar every day, but that doesn't interest me... I have one more problem, that after synchronizing the contact with the old phone, the date of birth 31.12.2 was added to everyone. Is there a program or trick for this so that I don't have to delete it individually?
Thanks to A.
unfortunately it's not just birthdays, I had it paired via google - but it also showed events where someone invited me (without confirming it) and it couldn't be deleted. So I ended up canceling it .. you either accept everything or nothing .. you can't select just a part .. so it's a no brainer
