The long-awaited Netflix video rental finally arrived in the Czech Republic. However, the service is not localized into the Czech language and does not contain films with Czech subtitles, let alone with dubbing. This fact can discourage many people who do not speak English very well. Fortunately, there is a way to enjoy the content offered at least with external Czech subtitles. However, the procedure only works on a Mac or PC, and you will also need the Google Chrome browser. The key to success is service SubFlicks.

  1. Launch Google Chrome on your PC or Mac and install the extension Super Netflix.
  2. Then install the extension - just click on the blue "Add to Chrome" button.
  3. All subtitles need to be converted from the classic .SRT format to the rather non-standard .DFXP format. For this you will need the already mentioned service SubFlicks.
  4. You simply upload the selected subtitles to the movie to the service by clicking on the green button Download and you will immediately download identical subtitles, only with the extension .DFXP.

The service also does basic subtitle retiming. In addition, it has its own database, where you can already find a lot of translated and prepared subtitles in different languages (Czech is not missing). Otherwise, you can download subtitles for free, for example, on the website subtitles.com. Once you have the subtitles ready, i.e. downloaded and converted to the required format, proceed according to the following steps.

  1. Launch Netflix in Chrome and select the desired movie. With the extension installed, three new icons will appear on the right side.
  2. The most important is the comic bubble with three dots. Just click on it, select subtitles with the ending .DFXP and upload.
  3. Subsequently, you can see the Czech subtitles without any problems. (On the first recording, the subtitles may not be uploaded, just click the bubble again and repeat the process. The subtitles should already be displayed.)
