If you are one of the Apple enthusiasts, then you certainly did not miss the release of public versions of iOS and iPadOS 14, watchOS 7 and tvOS 14 last week. Apple released these public versions of the systems one day after the September conference, which is quite unusual - in previous years we after the September conference, they had to wait about a week for the release of public versions of new operating systems. In beta versions, these systems have been available since June and from my own experience I can say that they appeared to be very stable, which is perhaps one of the reasons why Apple released them to the public so soon. Gradually, in our magazine, we analyze all the new functions from the mentioned systems, and in this article we will specifically look at how you can control the iPhone by tapping your finger on its back.
With the arrival of iOS and iPadOS 14, we saw the introduction of several new functions for disabled users - these functions come from the Accessibility section. However, these functions can often be used by ordinary people without disadvantage. The ability to control an iPhone by tapping its back is one of those features. So, if you also want to control the iPhone by tapping your finger on its back, then proceed as follows:
- First, of course, you need to have it installed on your iPhone iOS 14.
- If you meet this condition, open the native application Settings.
- Once you've done that, drop something below and click the box Disclosure.
- In this section, then click on the line with the name Touch.
- Now it is necessary for you to go down all the way down where you click the option Tap on the back.
- Then two options will appear, Double tapping a triple tap, for which you can separately set different actions.
- Once you've clicked on the options, you're done list enough select tu action, that you want the device to perform.
As for the step-up actions that can be started after double-tapping or triple-tapping the back of the iPhone, there are countless of them available. You can use various accessibility functions, but in addition, there is also a list of classic functions. All these actions are divided into several categories, namely System, Accessibility and Scroll Gestures. For example, there is an option to take a screenshot, turn off the sound, lock the screen, activate the magnifier or zoom in and much more. It should be noted that this feature is only available for iPhone X and later, of course with iOS 14 installed.
I also have a Shortcuts category there, and in it I have the Lumos shortcut set for triple tapping - turning on or off the lighting diode. A useful thing.
and where? I couldn't find that anywhere
It's good to clarify the article, not all phones have double tapping, I read somewhere that phones from iPhone 8 and newer have this feature. I have an iphone 7 and this function is not there.
After all, it is written at the end all the time, just finish reading the article.
yes I see it now, I missed it
this also works on iPhone 8, not just X and better.
Hello, I would also like to add that this function is also available on my iPhone 8 plus.
Also works on iphone8
It would be great, but unfortunately this shortcut is also activated quite often when driving through potholes on our roads :-D
It also works on iPhone 7
How? I can't find it on 7+
Pretty inaccurate article if they can't figure out that it also applies to iPhone 8 and up. First learn things about what you're writing, it's not that hard :)
This function was already on IP7 for switching music :)
I have an iphone X and it doesn't work and I have ios 16.3, the latest one, you don't know what it could be? and I normally have an offer there
