If you're lucky and there's a MacBook waiting for you in the box, there's nothing left but congratulations. But the question is, what then? After all, Christmas can be quite hectic and destroying your expensive gift right after Christmas Eve dinner probably wouldn't be the best start. Military protection, or rather a lightweight version?

Even a transparent case is not out of the question

Other promising candidates include polycarbonate transparent cases, which blend in perfectly with the MacBook and you almost don't even notice that you have a case at all. Although at first glance this may look like an advantage and above all an aesthetic addition, in the end it may simply happen that the protection will not be sufficient.
