If you have ever received an expensive device under the Christmas tree, you surely know that the alpha and omega of the successful life of your silicon friend is proper protection. And this statement is doubly true if your loved ones surprise you and prepare a gift such as an iPhone for you. This is because it is somewhat susceptible to any mechanical damage and you would certainly not want to destroy a similar gift right after you received it. For this reason as well, we have prepared several solutions and tips for you, thanks to which you will not have to worry so much about your new treasure. Of course, each has advantages and disadvantages, but we believe that in the end you will choose successfully.

Leather, transparent or silicone case?

If you are looking for a more closable cover that protects not only the back of your iPhone, but also the front, it could definitely come into consideration leather cover. It is the latter that fits perfectly with the lockable construction and ensures pleasant handling during opening and closing. Thanks to the leather material, it also provides excellent protection against, for example, liquids, dust and, above all, falls. The leather layer partially "extrudes" over the edges, which prevents significant damage to the edges. In the same way, most of the hinged covers also support charging using Qi technology, offer an elegant and premium design and, above all, an integrated stand and a place for, for example, an ID card or credit card. The disadvantage is that you have to keep the cover closed and you have to hold the back part next to the phone when taking pictures. Nevertheless, these are necessary compromises that are simply worth the safety of your phone.

Another adequate candidate is a protective cover made of a very pliable material such as silicone, which may seem at first glance not to offer much protection, but the opposite is true. However, it is significantly different from a leather case, mainly because it hugs the edges of the phone, creating an impermeable layer between the possible collision material and the iPhone. Another pleasing feature is the lightness and more elegant design, thanks to which you will not even know that you actually have a case. In addition, you can comfortably control the phone, because all the buttons are exposed and normally accessible. However, the problem in the final could be the construction itself, which is not nearly as robust as in the previous case. It is therefore ideal to take other accessories to help, such as tempered glass.

But before we dive into screen protection, let's take a look at the last way to adequately protect your phone without significantly interfering with its design. The solution is a transparent cover that perfectly surrounds the body of the iPhone and at the same time offers a reflection of exactly the colors you chose when choosing the iPhone. In addition to non-invasive protection, such a cover also offers incredible thinness and elegance, low weight and almost instant adhesion to the phone, thanks to which you won't even realize that you actually have a cover. Unlike a leather or silicone case, the cover is paired with the phone in an almost airtight manner. Paradoxically, this can be the most pressing problem, as you will enjoy sufficient protection if a few drops of liquid fall on your phone, but as soon as it comes to a fall, we would recommend combining the transparent cover with a film or additional screen protection.

Tempered glass and film as the basis of prevention

Not everyone wants to revive the design of their iPhone. After all, Apple offers a variety of interesting color options, or even the ability to customize your phone to your own image. So it's understandable that a lot of people hate having to hide the whole look behind a uniform cover or case. And an exclusively silicone or transparent cover is also not an ideal choice on its own, because it cannot adequately protect the display. The solution is in this case protective tempered glass, which perfectly protects the display and at the same time does not affect the overall aesthetics of the iPhone. The only problem remains a relatively obvious deficiency, namely insufficient protection of the edges and the rest of the body. Therefore, it is almost inevitable to choose yet another method. Even the installation itself can be a bit demanding - you have to be patient. One way or another, it is a necessary piece of equipment that you should definitely not miss.

Of course, the list must also include such an evergreen, without which your smartphone simply cannot do. We are talking about a film that protects the display not only from scratches and mechanical damage, but also against bacteria. Although a year ago such a claim would have been rather laughable, nowadays this functionality is definitely useful. Thanks to the special certification, the film prevents the further spread of bacteria and, above all, effectively kills them, which is never a bad thing. Using the application spray, you can also disinfect and clean the surface at any time, so you don't have to worry about catching some unpleasant bacteria on the screen during everyday use of the iPhone.

Either way, in the end it just depends on what you need and prefer. If you don't mind design compromises and are satisfied with higher protection, we recommend reaching for a leather cover. If you are more concerned with aesthetics and style, but want a balanced combination, tempered glass together with a silicone cover is the right choice. And if you are more in the habit of paying attention to your phone, the choice of foil together with a transparent cover is exactly for you.
