Apple Watch is primarily used to monitor activity or health, but you can of course use it to quickly deal with all kinds of notifications. But the truth is that it is an extremely complex device that can do much more. For long periods when you don't have your iPhone with you, you can play simple games on the Apple Watch, you can also use it to play and control music, and last but not least, you can also view photos on it, which can be useful in certain situations.

How to set which photos appear on Apple Watch

If you go to the Photos app on your Apple Watch, you will see some selected photos, including memories and recommended photos, which may not suit all users. But the good news is that you can choose exactly which photos to save to the Apple Watch memory so that they are available anytime, anywhere – even offline, without an Apple phone within reach. Here's how to select photos to display on your Apple Watch:

  • First, you need to go to the native app on your iPhone Watch.
  • Once you have done so, move to the section in the bottom menu My watch.
  • Then scroll down a bit, where you will find and click on the box Photos.
  • Here it is necessary to make sure that you have active function Photo synchronization.
  • Then scroll down a bit to the category named Album.
  • Here you can set the display of selected photos in two sections:
    • Sync album: here, choose the album to be displayed on the Apple Watch;
    • Photo limit: choose how many photos to save in the watch's memory.

So, using the above procedure, it is possible to set which photos should be saved and available on your Apple Watch. Of course, the options for displaying photos on the Apple Watch do not end there. You can also set it so that memories and recommended photos are (not) displayed, which the system selects automatically at its own discretion and according to what might be of interest to you. So if you don't want to display memories and recommended photos, all you have to do is deactivate synchronization. Of course, it should be mentioned that photos stored in the Apple Watch memory take up storage space, which can be a problem especially with older Apple watches.
